PlayStation 4 games on PSN SA: price shock

Wow I hope that they revise those prices. They are over the top expensive, especially for digital copies.

That is absolute craziness! It doesn't make sense that a game that is digitally distributed would cost more than the retail version in the shops. There is no extra expense wrt printing and burning DVD/Blue-Ray discs and the other costs involved with physical retail products. Not cool at all. This is making me think twice about getting a next gen console. Maybe I should rather consider a PC?

Same issue I have with Origin where games cost more on it than in the shops.

FIFY, esp seeing that they did digital right irw pricing :D

lol How I am laughing now at the people that told me getting a next gen console is much better than spending 10k on a gaming pc.

So you spend R7000 on a console and 3k on 3 games...could have had a decent gaming pc where games cost on avg between R350-R450 :D

Ridiculous pricing indeed. If this is what the next-gen pricing model is looking like, I've got a sinking feeling that it might deter me from getting any new consoles.

PSN SA digital downloads from third-party publishers are overpriced

I think my average game cost is more like R100 or less for PC games.

Maybe I should rather consider a PC?

Always consider a PC, even if you're a console gamer. Unless you're springing for a PS3 or Xbox 360, a PC should always be your first consideration.

The pricing will probably be revised at some point, though. R927 for Call of Duty: Ghosts, or the 30fps mess that is Rivals is a waste of money.

Only laughing now? :-P

You can never go wrong considering a PC we don't get all the games :( i know but we have the good ones we get at a much better price and better gfx :D

Just for curiosity what did PS3 games cost when they launched and what do some of them still cost today, i think when the PS3 Launched they were round about the same price i'm speaking under correction

Let me back the few console peasants on the forum.... R6300 for the console and R500 for PS+ = No Need To Buy Games for a YEAR
PS+ subs will be sold out once SA gets the PS4.

Unless you want new AAA releases like Infamous Second Son, you'd be waiting a good long while before that ever hits PS+...

Thats true, but so far i'm very happy with the free games that i've received and they have kept me busy and created a nice backlog.

I don't see any reason to buy single player games on release, unless you're ridiculously impatient, or have a lot of disposable income anyway.

I certainly dont unless it's on PC or a franchise I love, I'm gonna give the PS4 another year before I even consider getting one.

Most of the PS+ games will be indies, though, because indie games make up the bulk of what's coming to the PS4 in the launch window. The best time to really invest in a PS4 is around March 2014 when Infamous hits and Sony's first-party studios begin finalising their games for 2014. And then Watch Dogs and The Crew hit the streets around April.

I don't think PS+ covers season passes. R469 for COD Ghosts and R680 for Battlefield 4 Premium is quite a bit over the top I think.

What ticks me off it that Ghosts and BF on PC is almost the same as the console price. Am I wrong about this or have PC game prices caught up with console prices?
