Exclusivity in Gaming.

In a world where games are fully developed and produced on PC; and where next-gen consoles are eerily similar under the hood; Is there really any place for Exclusive titles anymore?

Or is the day approaching where the Gaming Singularity is reached?

Thoughts?

Exclusives will always be around, for the same reason that they HAVE ALWAYS been around: To sell consoles.

Also you will never get first party developers like Nintendo or Sony to create games for their competitors' systems, and that's where I imagine most exclusives come from in the first place.

I hope so. I see no (legitimate) reason why games can't be developed cross-platform. Especially with the new PS4 and XBox One.

I've always found it bloody ridiculous that Sony, for example, will release a game on PSN for their handheld consoles (Vita/PSP) but you can't play that game upscaled on their "real" console.

What Eugene says is true though. But I'll be damned if I'll be happy with that state of affairs :p

Never going to happen. Deal with it PC boi! :p

I understand likelihood is low; however It does feel like kind of a ripoff now with to pay R750 for what is essentially a PC game these days. I am actually hopeful for a day when you only truly need 1 machine in your room that is used for ALL gaming...but sadly profit margins infringe on such dreams
