Steam download stats for South Africa

1.3Mbps average download speed versus China & Brazil's 2.9Mbps; ~100TB downloaded versus China's 700TB and Brazil's Petabytes.

Weep. Or laugh. Whichever is most appropriate for being so far behind competing developing economies broadband-wise.

I actually thought 1.3 is not that bad...not so long ago we were rocking a bunch of 0.384 connections. :D

FYI - data is pulled from here if anyone feels like exploring further. Stats are available round the clock - not just for sales.

Admittedly have never heard of that before >.<

But Wikipedia confirms! Australasia it's not a typo. Learn something new every day :p

I laugh when I read this stuff but weep when I have to download a game from steam -.-

Well thanx to Mweb and their useless caps, I have not even started yet....hell I still have games from the previous sale I still need to get.

What is worse is they cap you even if all you do is download from the Mweb Steam server.

As for games I got:
Arma 2
GTA 4
Wargame EE
Alan Wake American Nightmare

Even better they did not cost me a cent (sold globe cards right from the start to fill my Steam Wallet)

Which games did you pick up during the Steam sale? Let us know in the comments below and on the MyGaming forum.

For me it is about which games I didn't get. Still in two minds about Tombraider and Bioshock Infinite. As my CC is already in pain, I think I shall refrain until the next sale.

I haven't played Bioshock Infinite but I've played the latest Tomb Raider and I enjoyed it a lot. Will definitely recommend it.

I am however proud to say that I didn't buy any Steam games. Time is scarce. Last year especially I didn't get time to play games that often. I've focused on work and it really paid off. This year I really want to spend more time playing games but hell I just can't buy anymore. I've got so many that I'm really blessed. For now I'm just going to try and win games and buy the occasional bundle.

Have played and finished both. For me Bioshock > Tomb Raider. Tomb Raider was still good but it didn't draw me nearly as much into the story as Bioshock did :)

South Africa 119.2TB, here's to 200+ TB's next year!

Bioshock, eh it's a tricky one that. Everything has been done before ingame, the only thing keeping it together is the awesome story.

I spent more than what I should have got another 6+ games that I will end up playing over the next year. I recently finished Borderlands 2 and all the DLC's (from the season pass) suppose I should make a schedule to play games during the week.
