Can anyone recommend this PSU?

Seasonic PSUs are great PSUs.

That is one of their lower tier/entry level PSUs but it's still 80 plus certified so you won't run into any problems.

And you'll be waiting a long time for the 8XX series to come out.

Has anyone owned this PSU and can comment on the efficiency? Looking at upgrading my psu, need to futureproof a psu for the next 1.5 years or so (running a gtx 770 atm, will be upgrading to a gtx 880 or whatever it will be called when it comes out) since I'm going away. Any other recommendations?

+1 to Seasonic. It's good to see a lot of other brands coming into SA, not just the same stuff over and over again.
 
The Seasonic G series is great (actually all of the Seasonic PSU's are good). A lot of other competitors power supplies are actually made from Seasonic parts, or use parts that they ended up not using.

It's 80 plus gold, so that's top of the line right there, with 92% efficiency apparently. There's a five year warranty as well.

tldr; You can't go wrong with Seasonic.
 
Decided to go for the seasonic 650 X, same gold certified, 100 bucks more expensive but fully modular.
