EA lied (obviously). SimCity getting offline mode and modding

Does this mean we'll see fixes for the horrible agent pathfinding systems as well as larger city build areas?

Somehow I doubt it. The online requirement is just the tip of the iceberg of what's wrong with this game.

I doubt it. I think they would have to redo the entire system to fix the problems.

I stopped giving the game any attention at around June last year. It was just too horribly broken and unfun.

I still want something bigger than this shitty city block we can build. The game is fun at the start but as soon as your city is done there is nothing to do I want to be able to build massive city's.

Still hoping they will fix this but after what I have seen with dogfighter I put the game in my dead games category and move on.

how can you guys play simcity? it's just too damn boooooooring, play Civ 5 then if you wanna be bored :p.

But does this mean they lied about BF4 too and the expansions are coming out even though it's still bugged as hell but they want to stop investors from suing them more?

Or is this just a ploy to keep everyone off their backs for the time being

Maybe some modders will fix the game that Maxis released as broken mess - i.e. develop proper region sized maps. Good luck fixing the economy and agent system though...

Too little too late imo... This was a huge issue when the game was released why did it take so long to rectify?

Because we gamers are idiots and don't know shit apparently.

Meh - I voted with my wallet a long time ago and I will continue to do so.

I might actually get this when that happens, @AlienTaker, sometimes simple micro management on that scale is a good buffer between all the action other games supply. Really wanted SimCity, but lost palate due to the bad things I heard.

Got to admit i was put off by everything i read as well, A lot like the X-Box always online thing... It leaves a bad taste in your mouth...

every game developer is trying to cache in on the always online. It should add value. at least blizzard tried to add value with the action house but as usual they screwed it up.

I feel the same. I don't think that changing their stance on the online/offline thing really makes a difference for me now. I don't think that I'll by Simshitty despite the offline mode. Over and above the original server problems, the game wasn't that good according to most reviews. Small city sizes, terrible AI. Has all that nonsense been fixed yet?

Question, would you eat a steak offered by a chef after you told him it was shit on a plate?

I will use that here and say hell no am I buying this game.

Still not interested in this game at all. If you want to play SimCity, SimCity 4 is very cheap, and has huge mod support.

Here, here. Simcity 4 was a great game, and even though the visuals are a bit dated, I'm sure that there are mods to improve the aesthetics a bit.

Or try Cities XL, it's super complicated but has a huge payoff! Much better than SimCity4 in my opinion. I'm still certain I'll pick up the new SimCity when it has offline support.

I'm playing Anno 2070 to get my city building fix. I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would.

I know it's not quite the same thing but whatever. :D
