Do you try and complete gaming achievements? How far do you go?

Hi All

I am just wondering what everyone thinks about the trying to complete achievements/trophy lists for games.

Do you not care? Try to platinum every game or only ones you really loved to play?
Or maybe just happy reaching some personal achievements in some games even?

I, personally, do enjoy completing achievements but its just a bonus while normally just enjoying playing the game.
I did complete my first platinum trophy for lego marvel superheroes recently and even though it was more of a time consuming challenge than an actual difficult one, it was still pretty awesome to have a platinum complete :)

Share your stories on some memorable achievements you've gone for in games.

I think i've only completed 2 games 100% but of late i just play all my games once and then go on to the next one.
I'm planning on getting all the achievements for Thomas was alone as I only missed a couple of collectibles in the 1st few chapters and you can go back to a specific chapter after you have completed it.

But since getting PS+ it does not bother me anymore.

Never complete all achievements, I usually do the ones which give a nice reward (Mounts) or ones which are fun in WoW

But since getting PS+ it does not bother me anymore.

Curious as to why having PS+ would change your attitude towards trophies? I dont have PS+ thats why im asking...

For me some games i just got obsessed with getting everything... like the GOW games...

Because he's getting way more free games from PS+, than he has time to play.

I don't even have PS+, but I have way too many games to go achievement hunting in each one, I'll only do it if they look like a fun challenge.

I completed two games 100%. The Walking Dead is a platinum trophy for merely finishing it. The one that I really went out of my way to get the platinum for was Sleeping Dogs.

I actually have too many games that I need to play to spend time on something that I have already completed. So I normally just move on to the next game when I finish it instead of getting the remaining trophies. I think that is kind of a common trend for people who have big backlogs.

In WOW my main goal was to farm achievements, from catching fish to exploring the world. Its fun but it can very frustrating if you just cant find that last place on the map with no name...

Probably around 5 games, I especially hate games with a novel MP experience with achievements and fighting games - just too tough.

I generally don't care about trophies anymore, but enjoy getting them for games I really enjoy.
Have 17 Platinum trophies on my PS3 was fun getting most of them.

PS+ makes it difficult to actually worry about plats and trophies. Just play the game and enjoy now.

On the xbox I could care less about achievements, never worried about them and never will as xbox is just cannon fodder to me.

I'll only put in the effort if the game doesn't have eleventy billion achievements. Like Brothers, only 12 achievements. and it's a short game

on the xbox i usually try as it increases your gamer score but on pc i really dont care about achievements

Overall, achievements are of no concern for me. But then I played The Stanley Parable. This game is probable impossible to complete 100% in any sense of the word, but there was one achievement that I indeed went for, and I would recommend going for it if you have the game. Right at the beginning of the game, go click on door 430 5 times, and see what happens...

My clan mates and friends call me an achievement whore :D

I completed 4 games 100%. Darksiders 1. The Amazing Spider-Man. Skryim. Mass Effect 3. The latter 2 got taken off the list when the achievements updated for the DLC.

Every game I have, I try my best to complete it 100%. I have Batman Arkham Origins on 99%. Just need to finish I am the Night Mode!

Only thing that puts me down are those Online/Multiplayer achievements :(

I have a friend who bases his game buying solely based on what achievements the game has :|

I stopped Plat hunting because this is exactly what started happening to me. I have 48 Plats atm but haven't gotten a single one in the past two years (Except for Skyrim). It started ruining gaming for me, now I play a game for as long as It's fun and then move on. A lot of games that I don't have Plats for are some of my favs and I replay them but never bother with the trophies.

Gaming has been a lot more enjoyable for me since.

I don't go for achievements. I tend to finish games and do lots of sidequests but I can't be bothered to collect all the flags in a game or such crap. It just doesn't feel like gaming.
