Got it from GOG its a fun game but the battles are merciless. Story is very interesting and some funny moments like a gaint want to push open a fortifications door.

Yeah I took the game on normal and even the first battle I lost 2 of my characters. After many reloads I finally got past that battle but now I am stuck in one town where one of my characters dies and I keep replaying it but just can't beat it without someone dying, also chanced it to easy rather but make no mistake its still hard one screw up and you lose characters. Strategy does play a big part in the battles.

Sounds like the battles have a RTS flavor to them?
