Looks like the PS4's have landed in South Africa.

Just like Vmthetho I also need a game but its the tomb raider game on ps4, really enjoyed the pc version and looking forward for new upgraded version.

ps. I saw the ps4 console in stock at locale Pick'n Pay at Vanderbijlpark . Saw about 3 consoles prized at R6 299.99

yeah that is about the going prize. I am waiting for them to drop below R6000 before I would consider buying.. or even wait it for the slim
 
I know this sounds stupid, but i see some good deals on olx, but how can they sell it so cheap, is it a scam??

Thanks for the warning, I wonder what is the cheapest ps4 package we could buy today, even if we had to import.

I think the prize is gonna increase maybe with the weaker rand against the dollar and pound.
 
I'm still holding out for the FNB Smart Devices package they announced a while ago. I think that will be the cheapest option (if their current smart devices are anything to go by).

What is the FNB smart Devices Package? If you don't mind, please tell us. I am at ABSA , if it is good I should maybe move

Contract offers which work out cheaper than buying something elsewhere like S4 were marginally cheaper than shops.

They've not announced exact pricing yet, but their mobile phone pricing usually works out less than what buying the phone would cost. And the monthly rate includes your bank charges. So for example, if you're a cheque account holder paying R100p.m. in bank charges, you can get a Samsung Galaxy S4 for R319 per month (and this includes the R100 you usually pay per month). So over the 24 month period you'll have paid R5256 for the S4 which still retails for R8-9000.

Its quite an interesting plan, so I think I will move in the next few weeks, and hope for a good promotion, I will try and keep this threat up to date if I find something good about this online

My pleasure. I'm very hesitant to pay R6300 for the console in one go and even more hesitant to buy it on credit and end up paying R8000 for it. So I'm waiting patiently for FNB to announce their deal. They were supposed to have it ready for the launch in December but I don't think they predicted the demand and after everywhere sold out so quickly they announced the deal would now be announced in early 2014. I predict it will come as soon as the stock is more readily available.

I am gonna call them tomorrow and hear when its coming do you think they will tell me, if they tell me I shall post it online.
 
Looks like the PS4 is getting a price hike in SA of R300 at the end of this month. New price will be R6599.
This is according to the IC dude on sagamer.

I wouldn't be surprised considering how badly the Rand is doing.
 
Now we will never own one, stuff the rand, I am going to stay on island. or maybe with my parents. heheh :)

That is seriously depressing. I can't believe we have to pay more for the PS4 than we had to for the PS3. The US is paying $100 less. Sometimes I really hate this country.

Bad news for the local crowd, wonder if it will affect pricing on games further? I think those are already too expensive.

Sometimes? sometmes ? more like always when I see something online and we cannot get it here or its is too expensive!
