The con-artist comedy "American Hustle" and the 3-D space odyssey "Gravity" lead the Academy Awards with 10 nominations each, with the historical epic "12 Years a Slave" trailing closely with nine nominations.

(The nominations announced Thursday set up a race between three very different films, all of which were nominated for best picture.)

Leonardo must be stressed as f**k right now. I just hope for his sake he gets an Oscar this year, just once. It's gonna be very very tough, both Hanks and Bale delivered rock solid performances in their respective movies. Let us all pray for Leonardo.
 
Good to see Matthew McConaughey up for best actor and his film "Dallas Buyers Club" up for best picture. Really hardcore drama that was and it really was a major performance from him.

The rest, bleh, bunch of crap, especially Gravity and Wolf Of Wall Street.

What do you have against Eminem? I also used to dislike him at first because of the whole "hip-hop/rap" stigma attached to him but then I grew up and now listen to all kinds of music.
 
I hope Gravity wins best picture. It was really incredible. Sandra Bullock is probably also my first choice to win best actress. I haven't seen any of the best actor nominated's films but from what I've seen of Dallas Buyer's Club Matthew deserves the award just for what he did to his body.

Never liked him never will i don't think he's all that Romeo and Juliet was awful great gatsby was semi ok, wolf of wallstreet bleh.

I hope Gravity gets the awards it deserves

I kind of feel the same. He seems to play the exact same character in every movie I've seen of his.
