What if Tomb Raider was a First Person game?

Well now we have an idea of how it might look!

First person games aren't really my thing (mainly because there is usually minimal story and gameplay consists mainly of shooting mindlessly - in most cases) but this looks pretty cool in my opinion. I wouldn't trade third-person TR for first-person TR, but I think there is definitely a gap in the market for something like this (not filled completely by Mirror's Edge).

When I read your thread title, I immediately picture a Mirrors Edge style of Gameplay. And then I saw the trailer.

Neh, it's not the type of game that lends itself to first person view at all. I mean, look at the first minute, do you really wanna only see up close and personal rocks while you're climbing? Not for me.

I think it could work if the graphics were a lot better (due to the fact that you do get so up close and personal). Definitely won't work for some people and might even cause motion sickness for others! But as I said, there isn't really much like it other than Mirror's Edge. First person has mainly been utilized for shooters and low budget horror games.

Tomb Raider 3rd person: staring a Lara's ass for 3 hours

Tomb Raider FPS: staring at rocks for 3 hours

I know which one I would choose

Achievement unlock!!

I think I would pass on this type of Tomb Raider Game, but It would still be a great experiment.

I liked the video

Lol! I understand, and agree. I just think this kind of gameplay could lend itself to making you feel more like you are in the world you're exploring, implement some intuitive, immersive controls etc. So perhaps with another character it could work.

after watching this a few times I think would be cool if used in conjunction with the occulas rift

I know this sounds stupid, but what if they used the occulas rift and something like the kinect to play this in a open area. That would be cool, maybe but not for people that are not active.

go with your first instinct bud lol ,

Lol if they do decide to do a FPS version, highly unlikely.. it would be my favourite game.. just because FPS is my favourite and I get to look at tits while looking down

Third Person games also play off how well the character animations make the player look badass/sexy. This works too well in games where the player does more than simply move in 6 directions. Think of Prototype or Assassin's Creed for example.

Meh, downward cleavage I get you but how about this. Instead of pressing the joystick down you go left, 360 cleavage shoot from any other angle you want. Either way you are taking you eyes off gameplay to stare, might as well have a different angle.

But I will appease the FPS fans with cleavage
