World of Warcraft to award instant level 90 characters with Warlords of Draenor pre-purchase

It's easy to kind of get stuck in the pre-expansion doldrums in World of Warcraft right now. Yes, you really want to have one more character up at the level cap, but you can't bear the thought of leveling any more. So what are you going to do? Well... you could just pre-purchase the expansion and get your instant level 90 character immediately, thereby saving you any more work leveling through the expansion and letting you just catch up a bit before its launch.

All right, you can't do all of that right now, but the development team has confirmed that digitally pre-purchasing the expansion will give you your instant 90... instantly. No word yet on launch dates, but players can opt in for the beta testing right now via the Battle.net account management page. The company is also testing the idea of adding in the level 90 boost to the game's store, allowing you to bring as many characters as you want up to the cap without any fuss.

Cool but got almost every class to 90 already, but great for people starting from scratch or havent played MOP.

Well i never pre purchase wow games cos i always wait to see what the collectors edition will look like i have the mists and cataclysm and burning crusade collectors editions couldn't get the Lich king one because they never made any available in SA so i hope they do add that booster to the in game store. i only have 2 char at 90 atm would love to put the other 4 there but first have to do a realm transfer to a realm that is not dead :(

Thinking of starting again when Warlords comes out. But, I'm kinda scared. It's like any addiction though: "Just one more hit surely won't get me hooked again?"

Seems like a bit of a ploy to try lure people into the game and get playing with out having to put in the months of work it takes to get a character up there...

That's exactly what it is. It's aimed at players coming back, mainly. many jumped ship before and during Cataclysm (raid finder kinda killed it for the die hards iirc).

I wouldn't go back it is very addictive you can't stop, I went back to try the MOP trial and ended up playing for 1 month already :(.

But what I don't like about games like this is that when you start to play in a game that has been available to play for a couple of years now is that people say that you are a noob and that you suck, so this can actually be a good thing to get awarded to level 90 when you just want to start.

This is gonna happen with any online game - especially something like LOL. With WoW, it's a completely open world. You never have to interact with other players if you don't want to - though, other people playing is one of the drawcards for me. Quest, farm, level professions if you want, all at your own pace, and alone. You get to learn the game mechanics, without ever getting called a noob.

Also, a noob getting insta-90 is a very bad thing tbh. A max level character that doesn't know what to do? Hmmm, not advisable.
