Batman vs Superman movie pushed to may 6, 2016

Been reading and following news about this movie since 2013



Warner Bros. announced today that they have pushed the release date of the Batman vs. Superman movie, aka Man of Steel sequel, a whopping 10 months from July 17, 2015 until May 6, 2016 to allow "the filmmakers time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story."

This May 6, 2016 slot is currently occupied by an unspecified Marvel Phase 3 movie. That's right, fanboys. As of right now, it's DC and Marvel going head to head on the same day at the box office!

Batman vs. Superman's July 2015 release date will now be filled by director Joe Wright's Peter Pan film.

“We are happy to take advantage of these coveted summer dates, which are perfect for two of our biggest tentpole releases," Warner Bros. president of domestic distribution Dan Fellman said in a statement. "We share the fans’ excitement to see DC Comics’ most popular figures, Superman and Batman, together on the big screen for the first time, which will now be arriving in theatres in May 2016. Peter Pan has delighted people of every generation for more than a century, so we are thrilled to bring him back to the screen next summer for today’s moviegoers.”

pretty stupid move imo, the marvel cinematic universe currently trumps DC in all aspects and im sure avengers 2 will destroy bVs

it was ok but it wasnt a good movie like say dark knight or the first iron man, i didnt like the cgi it looked a bit cheap and the movie's pacing was just a bit off imo
 
Well I guess I'm in the minority in saying I'm bummed about the delay. The first one was really epic and I couldn't stand Superman before it. Really looking forward to the sequel but I do worry they are trying to fit in too many DC characters.

Am I the only around here who thinks the Man of Steel movie was of the most epic nature and what a proper Dragonball Z movie should be like should they ever make another!?

I'm certainly looking forward to the release. Even if they pushed it up by a few months.
 
Look i'm a huge Batman fan and Man of steel was damn good bat i'm still skeptical about batfleck and i hope he doesn't ruin the whole batman feel and look cos Christian Bale nailed it. for me the best batman ever.
 
Yeah, Bale was the best Batman to date. Just don't see Affleck being able to pull it off, so probably won't be watching this when it comes out.
 
I actually fell asleep watching superman so one minute he was doing nothing ( that seemed to go on for an hour) and then I woke up to him fighting that general. Net result, Batman vs Superman has very low expectations from me.
 
Didn't think the first one was bad. Felt a bit disjointed at times. Did love the fact that Supes could actually unleash his powers. Will watch the second one as I'm a DC fan. Wonder if they may use the extra year to introduce other characters first and then throw them all together like they did with Avengers? Wishfull thinking I guess.

I would definitely prefer that rather than them all showing up in Batman vs. Superman. I worry about the pacing of the movie if they do that.
 
Well a justice league movie is planned but i think it will only happen after supes vs bats.

Because i think they are pushing it to be released the same time as the 3rd avengers movie and that's going to be one hell of a competition to watch.
 
I really enjoyed the last Superman... It was definitely the best superman film iv seen.

The whole idea of Batman Vs Superman is absolutely retarded in my opinion... Its not even a contest... You pitting a normal man, against superman... I dont even know how they could think about a story line where Batman stands a chance... Its ridiculous... Superman could just shoot a lazer through batmans head...

Anyone thats read a comic based on this that can shed some light on the story?

I feel the same way best Superman movie by miles first time we actually saw Superman go up against villains of equal power and i am a Batman guy.
