Tomb Raider sales broke even by the end of 2013

Still doesnt change the fact that the game was over hyped and did not live up to expectations... well in my opinion at least.

Each to his own I suppose. What exactly are your gripes with GTA 5 though - Haven't met anyone who dislikes it yet, so i'm interested to know.

Well I played it, but just like any other GTA game, I get bored of it quick.. Not really into GTA that much

I was the same. I think what drew me to V though was the bigger emphasis on story (compared to previous games) plus some pretty epic missions. I usually avoid open world games as I lose interest very quickly if there is no story moving along, but I found GTA V to be better in that regard.

What is lacking though. I'm blind to the game's issues due to being a fanboi and would like to know what bores you so fast and why?

I just loved the latest Tomb Raider and I'm really surprised that it didn't sell better. I look forward to the sequel.

The weird thing is that I've got quite a few gamer friends and none of them have played Tomb Raider.

I have a friend who only got a chance to play it during his December leave and after having finally played it, he not only loved it but ranked it as one of the all time best games he ever played. You need to be more persuavive and get your mates to play this amazing game! ;)

Agreed. I don't know what more they could've done really. It had like everything. You could almost live life in the game :P

The entire game is amazing however the one thing I found disappointing was the ending. By comparison to the rest of the game I thought the final boss battle and what led up to it a little underwhelming. :(

Yeah I agree. The last section leading up to the final boss battle all felt very dramatic but it was way too scripted, and the boss was way too easy. I hope they up the difficulty in the next game, because even on hard it was pretty easy.

Open world games is the games that attract me to buy it, I like it and like I said in gta v you can always just kill people , steal cars, ext.
It feels like the game will never end and you have all the abilities, vehicles and weapons to your disposal.

As cited by GamesIndustry, a game like Tomb Raider, with a US$100 million (±R1.08 billion) budget, needs to sell at least 5 million copies to break even.

Yikes. Never realised how difficult it is to break even. I have new respect for developers.

I really hope as a result of this Square Enix will give the sequel as much funding as they gave this one if not more. I also hope the same people responsible for making the new Tomb Raider as good as it was will be able to pull it off again.

I'm hoping the sequel can be their Uncharted 2 of the franchise. Take things to a whole other level.

I haven't played any of the Uncharted games yet but I assume the second one triumphed over the first?

Yeah it took everything great about the first game up a few notches. Most Uncharted fans would agree the 2nd game is the highlight of the games, although the 3rd game did have a few amazing set pieces.

Is there only 3 games and are they all available in some cool bundle package or would I have to get them all separately?

3 games on PS3 and 1 game on PSVita (haven't played it myself). 4th game in development for PS4. I'm pretty sure you would be able to find a bundle of the PS3 trilogy somewhere. Either way all 3 games are relatively cheap now even if bought seperately.
