Minimize/Maximize Issue

Sup owens,

Strange problem I'm experiencing at work today on my machine.

If I minimize a Chrome window on my second screen, then if I bring that window back up, it opens on my first screen.
If I put the Window on the second screen and close it, it will reopen on that screen, as it should. Everything else seems to function as it should.

Any ideas?!
I'm starting to loose my hair as this is infuriating me. I have already spent 4 hours trying to resolve a backup issue with Exchange and VSS giving me hell.

Help?! Please :P

Swop the monitors? :p

This is the first I've heard of this issue, but Chrome is a bit notorious for how persistent it is in holding on to opening coordinates. There must be some way you can purge settings that aren't account bound, save for a uninstall-reinstall?

Assuming you are using Windows 7, try the following:
- Drag chrome window onto the secondary screen
- Dock it by using windows + (either left or right depending on your orientation) arrow key
- Try minimize and restore to check.

Now it should remember its position when you minimize and restore.

Actually came right. Did a full uninstall and reinstall, but thank goodness for sync'd Google Accounts, I get to keep everything. Still not sure what was wrong though, I hope it didn't auto update to Chrome Canary.

Actually learnt something though, about WinKey+Arrows.

Thanks guys.

Glad I could help, I just wish it was a more elegant solution!

lol..... yarrr.... welcome to my world and that of the IT techy

Pfft. Try engineering. Even on reddit, the flavour text of /r/engineering reads We'll fix it until it breaks. I had to format my pc on Sunday, from fixing it. :(
