Not that big. FF7 was like 1.5 GB, even with 3 discs.

It was also an amazing tidbit of social commentary on player agency in shooters. We do everything because we're told to do it, not because we have any choice in the matter.

Its hard getting back into old games, everything looks bad compared to the new stuff especially games that relied on story and production values as part of the package.

There are mods that improve the look of the game and if you spend a little time with it you can get the game looking like this:

Check out this article from Kotaku if you want to mod your game. The only downside to the mods is they don't replace the models in the FMV sequences. So you end up playing the game with a better in-game model than what there is in the cutscenes.

When FF 7 came out it was like another level of awesome the only other game that impressed me like that was MGS 1. I still remember showing my brother MGS 1 and he was amazed but this is when I was still a teenager not a cynical old man like now.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who found LA Noire's ending atrocious. Great game up until the last hour or so, then everything just falls apart.

Definitely one of the most thought provoking ending's to a game could not bring myself to replay it though.
