Batman vs Superman movie pushed to may 6, 2016

I have to agree... I really enjoyed the new man of steel... The level of destruction was something else all together! I just think it will be difficult to follow up on...

DC movies have been pretty awesome in my opinion... I loved the dark night rises, and the dark night... I would have to say that the DC and Marvel movies are both excellent, but the Marvel movies are a bit more "candy coated" I loved how dark the new Bats and Superman movies were...

Also liked the DC instalments over Marvel, but Marvel has more to offer regarding "filler" films before Avengers 2. I'm hoping DC pulls something out of the hat though, because cramming too many characters too quickly in may cause confusion for those not familiar with them. I'm hoping this film to be mainly Bats and Supes vs probably Lex, with Diana making a cameo at the end or so, leading to the trinity's appearance in the JLA later on.

If you think about, that's what they did with the Man of Steel movie. It was a proper origin story for Superman.

And I know they are talking about a Justice League film, and a Wonder Woman film too before the release of Batman/Superman.

So I think they are on the right track.

The Man of Steel is regarded as Issue 0 for DC films.

What do you mean by Issue 0?

Starting point or catalyst for all future DC universe films. Basically Supes appearance is the reason for all the other guys to climb out of the wood work. There was even a few easter eggs in the film, like Lexcorp logos, Wayne Enterprises satellites, Blaze Comics etc etc. Others as well but those may be considered to contain spoilers.

DC seem to be building from the ground up, So Man of steel as Issue 0 makes sense as the foundation of the next couple of years, building the DC universe along the way... All new casts, that will hopefully remain for a decent period...

Just read about this:

Batman & Son

Looks pretty interesting, and I wonder if we'll see a DC movie like this between all these other origin stories.

I preferred the Batman Beyond take on a successor to Bruce. Love the suit mostly!

That could be the direction they were taking with The Dark Knight rises. I mean that ending could easily flow into this, but with the DC universe direction they took in Man of Steel I don't see that happening anytime soon.

i reserve any judgement of actor choices until i see the movie. i love the whole super-hero genre so will certainly go see a Batman vs Superman movie. you would be silly not to! however i doubt it would be them facing off, it would be more about them teaming up, i suppose?

i do have my doubts over calling Batman (and for that matter, Iron Man) super heroes as they have no super abilities, just suits and toys that was enabled by their riches, not their skill.

i always got the impression that DC was for grown-ups, looking for more serious subject matter. and Marvel was more for playing around and more of a comic than a book. however, the later Marvel movies (Iron Man 3, Thor 2) certainly were getting pretty dark and grown up. this also lines them up more with the actual source material, that has been very dark at times.

i sound like a pro, but only recently got a Marvel Unlimited subscription and have been reading like crazy. the last DC comic i read was the death of Superman... if only DC would wake up and do an unlimited subscription :)

John Blake is actually Robin from the Nolanverse of Batman. Don't think they'd push it to a Beyond role. I'd actually love a Robin movie to spawn from that ending.

I would give a lot for a Batman Beyond to spawn out of the Dark Knight ending! That batman beyond suit is so flippen awesome... Im sure at some part of that movie he mentions his name is or was Robin and he was adopted or something... so the robin follow up is probably more likely...

Also the fact that Nolan mentions he's Robin :p

Nolan had very realistic versions of the Batman universe, I doubt Batman Beyond would fit in that world of his.

Ya but also Robin is supposed to be Batmans "side kick" so he shouldnt really function without Batman... And bruce was pretty old by the end of TDKR...

Okay, we're just going in circles and it feels pointless. John Blake is Robin in Nolanverse, not Batman Beyond. The chances that Batman Beyond will exist in Nolanverse is slim to none.

I agree it would be brilliant to have a Batman Beyond movie, hence me bringing it up - However, it won't be a sequel in the Nolanverse unless he sells into it.

Ja, know that, but just the way it ended it kinda left it open for him to take over the cape and who knows, Bruce coming back to train him, be it as Robin or Batman v2.0.

Just as long as the Robin suit does not have nipple caps... OMG that brings back bad memories.

Why can't we just love both? This isn't nVidia or Intel vs AMD/ATi. It's superheroes! Who cares if it's Marvel's Avengers or the Justice League, we're getting quality geek flicks that everyone is loving. We're slowly geekifying the world, it's epic.
