The 25 most popular passwords of 2013 prove people are just as naive as ever

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think all South African banks have two-step authentication to log in plus the sms codes for some transactions.

FNB is only a username and password... But if you want to transfer money to someone thats not a beneficiary you have to use a one time pin that comes in an sms,,,

I'm with ABSA (don't judge me, dammit) and when log in, you start out with your main account number and pin. Then you have to enter 3 letters from a pass phrase. Then you get sms pins for transactions you do. If you transfer money to a non-beneficiary account you actually have to enter a pin at the start and another pin at the end of the transaction.

And with this, it randomizes each time. So its always a different set of 3 letters/numbers you put in.

Absa FTW!

I queried and now get sent an sms with an OTP to sign in online.

Necuno posted a very interesting article on MyBB a while back.

http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/578989-Nuclear-Launch-Code-at-US-Silos-Was-00000000

The TL;DR version: The US used 00000000 as their nuclear launch codes until the late 70s.

Also:

For all you guys that have special characters, mixed caps and both numeric and alphanumeric in your passwords:

bwahaha! So true.. I'm also partly guilty for using a universal password for everything online or variations.. Ain't nobody got time for remembering so many passwords! :p
