You've seen all the trailers - so many trailers - but you can can finally check out Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 for yourself today. The JRPG's demo is available on Xbox Live, and it should hit PSN in North America later today, and Europe tomorrow.

If you need extra incentive beyond sheer curiousness, if you use the game's social media themed Outerworld service in the demo to submit a battle score, you'll unlock an outfit for Lightning based on Final Fantasy 6's Siegfried - the outfit transfers over to the full game. Meanwhile, PS3 players who just try the demo unlock an Utsusemi Samurai outfit for the main game too.

As if the returning heroine's wardrobe isn't already fit to burst, there's also news today of bonus Yuna garb with Amazon US pre-orders, along with the FF10 summoner's staff and victory pose. That's in addition to the Cloud-based pre-order bonuses, by the way.

Somewhere beneath the ever-burgeoning pile of outfits is the game itself, which is due on PS3 and Xbox 360 in North America on February 11, and on February 14 in Europe.

It looks more open world and I think its the first FF with a dynamic day night cycle. Looks promising but will have to wait and see got burned by FF 13

I love the long cut scenes in the games, very smoothing music, it feels like you have to cry wile playing, you really connect with the characters, its like a book someone else reads for you

At long fucking last :D
As soon as this hits the EU store I'm downloading.

A lot of people didn't like the Fabula Nova Crystallis canon but man I did. FFXIII was pretty average for me but I did enjoy it, I thoroughly enjoyed FFXIII-2 and Lightning Returns is my most anticipated game atm.

The download is going to be huge, ff13 was 3 discs on xbox just think how big the game download will be .

So now im intersted... Maybe i should get my game into gear and get 13 finished and try out 13-2...

@Duke Duke - Am i wasting my time here? Seriously... Coz iv pretty much dragged myself through FF13...

Think a noob to the series can start on something like this?

I wouldnt advise it... The story carries on over the 3 games, so best to start at the beginning in my opinion...

Takealot had a special on ff13-2 collectors edition for xbox (R199) usually around R600 but for some reason when I wanted to buy it ,it was yet again expensive, I just play the game for the story and that is all.

Damnit, I don't want to play all 20 of them! Isn't there a "Previously in FF" video I can watch :p

Oh lol you don't have to play ALL the FF titles. Most have nothing to do with each other. This is FFXIII-3 though so playing XIII & XIII-2 would be recommended as the storyline of this one follows on the previous 2.

So only 3 games then, not that bad. Had me worried for a moment.
