So arcade games are free to play. You don't need to buy HOTS/WOL.
I will however suggest to just copy the files from a buddy, as it's a huge download.

This is currently my goal. Nearly done with WOL, then on to HOTS - once that's done I'm off to practice macro against bots before hitting the ladder (scary stuff).

It's great IMO. Interesting story and characters and varied missions, I'm having a blast.
