Comic Books

Yeah, and he did a lot of work for Remender on Uncanny X-Force (probably the best run on that book, ever). He's doing the Black Widow stuff for Marvel starting this month, that looks really amazing.

Will keep an eye out for that one, thanks :)

And just because sharing is caring :

I am busy reading Watchmen and absolutely LOVING IT. I recall watching the movie many moons ago, but i think at the time i only found it ok as I was probably young and naieve and expecting more razzle and dazzle :-( but now that i'm reading the GN, i have a whole new respect for the way the movie stayed quite true to the original story.

The way that Moore is able to weave multiple threads within a few panels is amazing. The scene with Dr Manhattan on Mars, as well as the scene on the couch with Dan and Laurie are two such examples. Genius!

Who is the one on the far left supposed to be?

Must admit i did enjoy the Watchman comics and the Movies... Not often that a movie comes off that well from a graphic novel... Watchmen and Sin City were great adaptations...

From left to right : Thor, Captain America, Green Lantern, Batman, Superman, The Flash, Iron Man, Alien Suit Spider-Man (or Venom depending on what your take on it is)

New story arc that starts in Detective #27 and crosses into Birds of Prey, Batgirl and Batwing (so far). Curious arc that piqued my fancy.
I picked it up for R39 or whatever the $2.99 books go for at Cosmic.

I'm not usually into comics, but being a big TR fan I decided to go ahead and purchase the collection of TR comics originally published by Top Cow in the early 2000's (50 issues!). I'm really loving it :D.

Is it any good though?

Lol you guys :wtf:

I got a friend to get it for me while he was in the UK (to avoid SA's crazy customs costs) from a third party seller on Amazon. It is extremely rare though so it cost a pretty penny (just under R5500 for the collection xD). As some of the people on the forum might've realized by now, I'm a pretty big TR fan so it was a bit of a must have for me :p.

The full colour artwork is really well done though and while I don't have much comic reading experience to compare it to anything, I think it is really good. Would've preferred some of the stories to go on longer but with so many issues to still read I can't complain yet :p

Is it hardcover or paperback? I see the paperback is going for $325. Also, Dan Jurgens wrote stories in this collection. He did some cool stories on Superman and Thor in the 90s.

I have a hardcover one. But yeah I'm really enjoying it and I feel like I will definitely look into some other comics following this as I'm beginning to understand their appeal :p
