I dont think so... They know Mario is there main selling point... Its the main reason why people buy Nintendo's consoles... Putting it on a phone would mean no one needs to buy the console... It makes sense to me at least...

Yes I agree with you it would be great in the short term but damage there brand in the long term they just need to make a console that third party developers want to use and not an underpowered console that makes it incredibly hard to port games to.

I see it as a product that they can develop quickly, it doesn't have to be the same as anything recent. Effectively if they do it right its additional revenue which they really need. But that's how I see it

Ya its sort of 6 of one half a dozen of another... One could argue that it would be good advertising for the Nintendo console as well... But i think they are concerned about watering down what Mario is for a quick buck...
