Game of Thrones

Pretty close. Often the words line up perfectly.

The TV series does shuffle things around a bit...mostly to throw out minor characters. i.e. Have one of the existing characters say the line rather than a minor character. Really battling to think of a specific example now though.

The youngest brother Rickon was removed from the series though - or at least I don't recall seeing him. Opening scene is also quite different in book vs TV, but the effect is the same.

It sound like in the coming season they shuffled it a bit more though. Apparently Tyrions storyline was moved forward.

Yeah, like he said the series is a rather faithful adaptation. Certain minor characters were indeed phased out and absorbed into more relevant ones; and certain story arcs were reworked for the screen. The only major change would be the pacing; which is obviously faster in the show in comparison to the books.

That bastard needs to be drawn and quartered by ponies so it lasts longer lol

They most appropriate punishment would be having to play Dota on russian servers forever....with a slow connection :D

I Remember Rickon was there for a short while.

I found that the pacing of the show was quite slow. I can't imagine how impatient I would get with the books.

I've got a question. I'm enjoying the tv series a lot and at times I wonder if I should read the books but I'm worried that it will spoil the tv series for me.

Those who have read the books. Don't you find it annoying that you know what's going to happen?

I haven't read the books but surely the amount of suspense would be greatly diminished by knowing whats going on. I would read the books after the series is done.

Yes but the rest were cool too, they have provided us with high quility episodes so, I am glad that they are making a new season, maybe they should take out the sexual stuff though.

Why did you just reply to your own post?

I love the TV show so much, i started reading the books, and trust me they are awesome! The TV show does them justice though... Its not like a book that they adapt and its a complete mess...

you won't be sorry at all, it just gives you a bit more background about the characters and the events.

Thanks guys. Maybe I should get them then. I'll ask the wifey if she can get some of them for me for my birthday. :) Or a Kindle!

Or a Tablet :p If you dont have one... I use my tablet to read all my books these days... Plenty of book apps...

True... But the kindle can only display books... I think the Tablet is way more effective... Especially for someone on a gaming forum :p

True but the backlight in tablet is more damaging to your eyes.

Also, doesn't the Kindle Fire have a browser of sorts?
