The fact that all, 6, people on my FL with RUST who have joined the ProKill server (The one you HKGK and kie. keep promoting) have only been greeted by KOS tactics and unnecessary raids and griefing - proves otherwise. You guys have a bad rep already is what I'm stating, you can't say it shouldn't be spread around because it's already too late.
I read your post. In one post you declare that people should join you as you're noob friendly, in the next you say that if they approach you and they don't leave, you kill them - which is it?
I dislike griefers, not HKGK. But you guys sound a lot like griefers.
And if, like myself, they happen to spawn near a building site being completely new to the game and just inspecting the world then instantly get shot? I've been shot 3 times on sight and have never been asked anything - just run up to me, take out a shotgun and shoot.
We are not promoting Pro Kill server at all, that is the one where people have complained about the KOS mindset, we are playing on RustZa, look at the thread in this forum about it. We dont play on Pro kills server anymore.
Yes there are alot of people who just KOS, we have all been killed as new spawns when starting the game, its just the circle, eventually you will be that guy with full kevlar and an m4 and have the power to kill anyone on sight.
The problem with games like this is the players mind set that comes naturally with the "Perma death" model, I think its best explained in a short story:
----------
A new player starts Rust for the first time, lets call him "Kevin", Kevin starts the game, he's in awe of the giant Map and runs around trying to figure out exactly what this world is about. After gathering some resources, Kevin see's his first real player busy building what seems like a Wooden Mansion, he approaches this player, hoping to spark a friendship only to have him turn around, yell "THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE", and blasts Kevin right in the chest with a shotgun.
So now Kevin starts again, fresh, with abit more knowledge of what to do, weary of other players but still believes they can be trusted. After managing his first wooden hut and door, he feels like he is getting somewhere. He notices another player hacking at a woodpile near his shack, he cautiously approaches while saying over his mic "Friendly", the avid lumberjack turns to face Kevin and replies with "Friendly" as well, With Kevin now thinking he's made a new survival buddy, the lumberjack pulls out his MP5 and pops Kevin between the eyes.
Utterly demotivated after all his hard work which has come to nothing, Kevin sets out again, knowing not to trust anyone, he manages a decent 2x2 base, builds himself some armor and an M4. Now he feels invincible, he goes out to the woods to gather some more resources to finish off his base.
New Player "Dave" has just spawned and is traveling through the forest in amazement, he see's a player sporting a fancy red hoodie busy hacking at the corpse of a bear, Kevin spins around from filleting his recent kill, yells "I AM THE NIGHT!" and plants an M4 bullet into Dave's left lung, knowing full well he cant trust anyone. Dave wonders what this world is really all about as his kill message shows on his screen.
And the cycle repeats itself.
