R2 million damage in biggest EVE Online conflict in history

EVE is the only game where one can truly claim of have taken part in a "War". I have heard of simple "disagreements" involving some Frigates turning into battles where Battleships and Dreadnoughts get dragged into the fray; but to have even TITANS involved here shows the magnitude of how things can spiral out of control over the slightest thing.

Butterfly effect indeed

I think this screenshot gives better justice to the sheer size of above war. Each orange and red square is a player owned ship. In the other screenshots you could only see the large ships that very few players actually own.

Oh and Eve is the only game that is more exiting to read about than to actually play it.

I find it unbelievable how much time people invest in this game... These massive battles are ridiculous though...

Some make a living off this game - a friend of mine, PopeyeZA, has his mining income from the game pay off his EVE subscription fees.

This is true. EVE stories read like Sci-Fi political thrillers :D . Pretty certain one could make movies out of specific EVE events

Reading up about this makes you realize how crazy it actually is, apparently it can sometimes take over a year to be able to build & fly a Titan, and over 100 of them were destroyed in this.

These guys have some serious commitments.

Oh man I remember being in Dust and on the forums following this! Our corp got involved in it as well, damn it was just so awesome to see the $$$ climb as the kill reports started coming in :D
