I could not find any football thread on the forums and thus, have decided to start one :D

Being a football fanatic means going through a regular emotional rollercoaster. Yhe highs and lows, the ebbs and flows, the ups and downs. All part and parcel of "The Beautiful Game"

For my part, I'm a United fan. and after gorging myself sick on decades of dominance, i am now facing the first season without Sir Alex and it is terrifying. David Moyes looks like a deer caught in headlights :-( we have nohope if finishing in the top four, so CL football is lost for next season. I fear that we are the new Liverpool circa 1990

United supporter as well mate.

As per CL I feel the only way we can win it is through luck: ie luck of the draws, minimal injuries and the minion teams doing us a favor by knocking the big guns out of the tournament.

As per the league I'd be jumping for joy if we can make top 4 at least. We're not far off the pace and slip ups in the coming weeks by the above teams like Liverpool, Tottenham and co. and we might just have a chance.

There is not a snowballs chance in he'll of United winning the CL :( We won't even make the semi finals

Moyes tactics have to be questioned. Why did he replace Jones with Welbeck? That forced Rooney to play in midfield. I fear Moyes is well out of his depth. He was an average manager at am average club, but the performance of Everton this season hints that he may have actually been holding them back!

I wish I could share your optimism, but I predict a slump for United akin to the Liverpool collapse in the 90's

That's being real harsh on Moyes he basically got a impossible job taking over from a legend and I would hold off on those statements about Moyes holding Everton back they just received a few heavy defeats.

Is this an international football thread? We all live in SA, but supporting other countries soccer teams?

Bafana and pirates fan here. Yes, Proudly SA!

It's a football thread, not limited to any specific league :D

Regarding Bafana, I support them from a patriotic standpoint, but let's just say that they don't exactly inspire joy or awe when they play :p

So glad i won't be bashed in here for being a Man U fan so happy i have friends here :D

Ppl always hate winners  and United have dominated for so long, it's natural for other fans to be haters. Personally, I love the fan rivalry. It's what makes watching games more fun and intense

What do u reckon, where to from here for MUFC?

Haha! Nice, another Pirates supporter :)

Other than United and Pirates I also support Barcelona, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund ie one from the other major leagues :D

Ooh West brom drew with Liverpool big result for West brom.

i guess its a teeny tiny scrap of good news from an otherwise terrible weekend for United. they have to still cling onto the hope of qualifying 4th. spurs and newcastle also drew, but damned everton won :-(

I always fail to see how fans can own a football club; like XBAT says, "WE HAVE HAD...". Just because you are a fan does not mean you can say "WE" when talking about the team you love.

I think you are splitting hairs here, more of a case of being part of fans supporting a single club, not about owning it.

I support Nottingham Forest and hope they play well enough to be promoted!
