Insomnia cures that worked for you

I get it at the health section of my pharmacy - or at least I did last month. I tend to swop between the two every couple of months so that my body doesnt get used to it. I am a big insomnia sufferer.

I just seem to wake up at the same time every night +- 3am and then battle to sleep again :(

I think getting exercise is a very good suggestion. I've started going to gym recently and I'm feeling better and sleeping better, and you burn off some of the excess energy.

They tend to not knock me out, but they relax you. I find it easier to shut down then and fall asleep about 15 to 20mins after taking them.

i'm definitely more keen on herbal remedies and going to try and avoid any medicated sleeping pills, as i'm nervous about more complicated side effects :-(

Before our flight back to South Africa from Thailand, the wife and I stopped at a side street chemist. (They are like cafe's there), got two sleeping pills.

Got on the plane, took one each....That's the last thing I remember. Took about 10min to knock us both out. We fell asleep before the plane took off, and we woke up 15min before we landed. LOL. Loved it. Wish I knew what they were....

I only use real sleeping pills when I have reached a 2 week period of less than 2 or 3 hours sleep at night, then I will take half a tablet on a friday night and by sunday I am back to a more normal sleeping pattern. I normally get about 6 or 7 hours sleep per night, but every couple of weeks I will have a bad week.

Rohypnol? :wtf:

Edit: Damn you Matt!

I find if I listen to music, read a book, watch tv or do crosswords I fall asleep, but if I do android games I cannot :D.

Exercise ....... you will not have an issue, ever, again.

I disagree unfortunately. It will help for people who have bad sleeping patterns. Unfortunately for someone like me, it doesnt work. I take 3km walks with 2 german shepards every day, do various other exercises during the evening. But it makes my body tired but doesnt help me sleep unfortunately hence the herbal remedies

it was probably Avomine dude. pills for motion sickness, but they make you VERY drowsy!

Just relax, lay down and keep your eyes closed. I suffered from insomnia fro around 7 months a few years ago, as long as your eyes get rest, all is good :)
