Petrol price expected to soar to R16 per litre

Services are still generally at 15000km intervals regardless of make/model. Unless you do less than that there's no avoiding services.

Had to replace an alternator and other things the last year under service and now theres another problem with my car not having enough power :p.

Seems to be always something wrong with it.

My car's services are on every 15 000 km as well , my next service is going to be a big one they told me. :(
But fuel wise, i got a 1L Toyota Yaris :)

Toyota's are brilliant machines. My dad's Camry back in the day did 780 000km with not a single major issue at all. Used to drive down to the Cape every two to three months or so for business. Went insanely strong. Then I wrote it off. :)

780 k wtf.. that's unheard of like... ever lol.

Seriously, 99% of people think I'm talking crap. I have absolutely no reason to though.

I have also heard of Honda's getting way over 400 000km.

Dammit! I'm already coughing up more than a rand a km. Accord 2.4 guzzles petrol :(

I'm gonna have to trade down to something lighter pretty soon

I had the Type S for about 3 years, so downgraded to a 1.4 VW G6 TSi. Twice the milage now for almost half the petrol tank :D

not really my dad still has his Camry, 1994 model that has 470 000km on the clock, was serviced and dino'd the other day.
Car still produces 112kw and runs like an absolute beast when you step on it. Also incredibly light on juice on the open road.

I was going to go fill up... The millions of people at the petrol station were just not worth the R18.00 i would have saved on the tank...

And now they wonder why people are going apeshit over the e-toll system. i'm so glad i bought my bike now. And i'm starting to feel sorry for the guys with the V8's and those type of big cars it's going to start hurting them a lot now, and no more friday night dices for the GTI's and ST's :p

On a side note, can the gantries pick up a bikes number plate from the back? Or does it do all the number plates from the front?

Those 1L Yaris's are awesome on fuel... and a Toyota is normally not to bad when it comes to servicing... Your next one a cam belt or what?

It will be the 75 000km sevice but i cannot recall what they said they had to replace that would make it so expensive.

O ok well it shouldnt be the cam belt then... and that's the only one you really need to worry about....

Depending on the car, the cambelt can cripple a dude. Hence all these lekker cars going for a song on gumtree at a certain mileage. lol

I filled up on Monday so I'm good for the week. Couldn't have waited anyway, I probably just made it to the petrol station round the corner from my house

Just hope the ANC don't win in the General Elections this year, they don't give a s*** about the weakening of the Rand.
Always just blame the ANC
