just out of curiosity, does anybody know what mechanism or process James uses for the selection process ? www.random.org ? does he just plug in 1-25 and then whatever number comes back is the winning position ?
Wow this thread has really disappointed me on the number of posts,I expected over 400 by now, guess people lost interest after the PS4 comp.

The last time there were a huge number of noobs spamming the competition thread. It's a lot better this time. We'll see how it looks during the last week, though.

Well it's not a TK forum, the last one was just messy
Thing is, for the newbies who didn't already contribute this week, it's going to be mighty difficult to catch up. And I hope James swings the banhammer for tools who just go mad in last week alone![]()
Ya you really have to stay on top of things to keep yourself in the top 25... during the week especially... but its all good fun so im not complaining![]()
They definitely know how to please their target market! It looks like the guys at My Gaming had a goal to create more activity on the forum in 2014, and what better way to do it than giving away consoles to gamers! :-D
Mybroadband just did that. It was a complete shambles. To be honest, MyGaming has always had some great comps but I think they've latched onto a good format with the whole top 25 thing. It certainly is working better than the one year they were giving away a PS3 and the comp required people to post a thread with helpful or entertaining info - then the community would vote for their favourite thread. Let's just say certain entrants went and got people to setup once-off accounts just to get votes as well as setting up some extras of their own.
In all honesty, I wouldn't partake in a comp for an entire year if the prize wasn't worth all that time.Mybroadband just did that. It was a complete shambles.
It wasnt literally for a year, that would be madness, just "the one year" it happened. But those kinds of contests end up being popularity contests. In all honesty, I wouldn't partake in a comp for an entire year if the prize wasn't worth all that time.
But that's just me, I'm sure that there are guys who wouldn't mind.
the winner from votes almost ended up being "Where to find craft beer in Cape Town".
