Titanfall multiplayer is going to suck in South Africa

I guess I will have to play in england :p though from what I read I don't know if it will be any good with ai and physics being on server :-/

The more I read about this game, the more I don't wanna play it.

Thats strange because the more most people, read, see, hear, all they want to do is play it! This game looks so awesome! But the lag is gona suuuuuck...

Sigh, although only having servers in Europe for Loadout hasn't been bad (roughly 100ms ping) but I doubt we'll be that lucky with this game, seems like there's quite a lot of data and calculations dependent on the servers.

100ms is insane! More likely double that surely?

Also, is this really an open beta? Its kind of open to begin with, then closed...if that makes sense.

Loadout runs amazingly well from South Africa. I think they did some kind of voodoo with their net code. You'll rarely notice any latency.

Yeah, I'm interested in playing it but only if the lag isn't unbearable.

I'm thinking that were gonna get between 150ms to 250ms.

Anything over 100ms is going to suck badly, never mind "AI Calculations" etc.
I really hope they did a lot of work on the Source Engine netcode, as it does not like high pings at all!

I feel the same, I can't help but notice it looks like COD.

The game is online only, so it's going to blow with anything less than 80ms as ping.

Will cancel my pre order after playing the Beta, That will be the decider for me.
I wonder wtf they are thinking, but its typical Microsoft...Not sure why I expected it to be different.

Probably along the lines of "Meh. They will buy this game. We will make a killing. Just go ahead with it.

And me being on 3G, I'm pretty sure any online time on this game will be worse.

Yeah lets face it, they still haven't launched the X1 here after months and months, so clearly they dont really care about us little South Africans. They know they'll still sell a few copies of hte game here regardless, and even if people dont buy because of this server fiasco, the capital outlay to give us local servers wont pay off for them in capturing those held off sales anyway.

While they shy away from stating it outright, Microsoft SA's response to MyGaming does hint at where the problems lie: they don't believe any of the data centre options in South Africa are up to the task. They offer a certain service level agreement to Azure users and our DCs and/or service providers in SA just wouldn't be able to hack it. (Reading between the lines)

I played BF3 on console only on European servers. It's a simple latency to get used to. I don't see this game flopping locally.

Yeah as stated earlier playing Loadout on EU servers is very very good. I usually get between 100 - 200 ms ping on them which is very decent. Even been top K/D many a time whilst playing with Europeans. Hopefully TitanFall functions like Crysis did(does); EU servers only but quite smooth and fair pings all round
