Morning peeps, I see the Myg vs Lazygamer thread has calmed down a bit.

linky link ? i searched and all i saw was this thread, and its dead

That's a good thing actually doing there job for once.

True, but most of the time they are causing bottlenecks at the worst possible locations. Like the Van Riebeeck exit on the R300. Or the R300 off ramp from the N2.

And they do it in peak morning traffic.

Can I ask you guys a favour?

I've got a website: http://hostingweb.co.za

Now the thing is that it doesn't look like people know how to use the thing right. Does the site make sense?

The main bit is to get to the current Best Website for your money guide and as soon as you hit the site it's the main attraction. Then there's also links to:
- A list of South African websites (that almost never gets any traffic) which points to places where you can find the current prices and a little bit of info on the hosts (gets no traffic whatsoever).
- VPS testing, that's new so haven't really got stats on it.

What can I do to make the site make more sense to people?

Looks pretty straight forward to me.

I clicked the button and it gave me a breakdown of the information I wanted/needed.

It could be that non IT people are looking at it and cannot comprehend what you are saying. Although it seems easy and clear to us not all involved in the decision making process understand it all. (trust me on this, you can use laymans terms and some CEO's just wont comprehend)

Thanks you two. And that's actually a great idea, Wyvern! I should see if I can put together a beginners guide for those who are new to hosting. :D Great stuff!

Yep that is what you need Solitude, because I just went through something similar with my boss - aka why do we need to use uncapped instead of capped internet, what is the difference blah blah blah, the hosting stuff I actually forced the it company that handles it for us to sort out.
