I am looking for an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows

Does anyone know of any shops in Cape Town that have an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows in stock. I've looked at all possible shops in Cavendish and Canal Walk. BT Games in Tygervalley and Claremont also do not have in stock. I could order online, but it will only ship in 2-3 weeks. If anyone can point me in the right direction it will be much appreciated.

Definitively a scares thing to get, i've only seen one shop in my immediate area that sells it for windows and that was NewWorld Menlyn...

ask them to send you one from another branch mate at BT Games

Great minds think alike. BT Games said that one of their other branches up country had in stock and they are sending it to the Claremont store. They said a 2 week wait for the latest, but it's been 3 weeks already, so I am looking for other options if that falls through.

Do u have an Xbox? What i did was get the wireless dongle thing and i use my spare 360 controller. They work just fine, I play prototype with it, even tried crysis. Its going to work out a tab more expensive but u will get one no probs.

I got an Xbox 3 weeks ago, but I'm still a PC fanboy, so I was looking to get an extra controller for the Xbox and one that I can use with my PC. Two bird, one stoned. I did think of getting the dongle, but like you said, it would be cheaper to get the controller for windows, then a controller and an dongle separately, so that was a plan B. I also wasn't able to find a dongle at any stores I mentioned above.

That would be ironic, I've waited long enough. But, if it isn't my one, then it would just be a slap in the face :) I'm going to call the Claremont branch again and find out the status.

Fanboy or not. No point getting two controllers. I dont know if the windows one works with the xbox. But i know xbox works with windows.

Take2 says its out of stock so that could be ur problem.

You can get a controller like that from Makro for R150 its called the Logitech Chillstream i have the PS3 compatible one :D its awesome

That PC shop on the 1st floor used to sell em, forgot there name though :/ @ tygervally i mean...

[EDIT] Oh yes Compu City :)

Thanks for the assistance, guys. I'm going to follow up on my order from BT Games first. I'll check out the Compu City as a Plan B and order online as a Plan C.

Ok guys, there has been some misinformation here, let me try to clear things up. In the current situation of having an xbox and wanting a second controler to use on pc and xbox, i reccomend either a wired xbox controller, or a wireless one with a dongle. All that the windows branded one has a cd with rivers. If you use vista these drivers are not needed, you could also download them. The wired controller works on pc and xbox, and the wireless one works on pc and xbox, asuming you have the dongle.

The logitech chillstream may look like a xbox controller but will only work on pc, not xbox.

Hope that helps man.

Is the dongle that you can buy separately, the same as the dongle that comes packaged with the Wireless controller for Windows? I also read that the dongle alows you to connect multiple controllers (probably up to 4) to pc via one dongle. Is this true?

BT Games screwed me around. So, it's time for Plan B. But, I think I will dabble in Plan C first. Does anyone know where I can buy the dongle, from any place, online or offline. I will buy a normal wireless controller and get the dongle separately.

the controllers are exactly the same all you need to use your xbox control on ur pc is the wireless reciever. ! there is no difference between the retail xbox control and the one that ships with the reciever, its the same thing
