That sounds like a good summary. I've only done one memory remix and I liked it, was fun seeing all the endings playing out.

Ya, it's a cool concept, but annoying if you get stuck. There aren't that many memory remixes, which is a good thing, it could get tiresome of there were more.

I did like the style of the game and the whole Neo-Paris thing.

It's also cool that you can customize the combos depending on what effect you want from them.

Yeah, the combo system looks pretty cool. I just need to get the hang of it. I'll do some more of that tonight. The Regen-combo concept is pretty cool, allowing you to get health with certain hits, instead of using health pick-ups.
 
I just just picked up The Last of Us finally :D .

I noticed that the game download is different. I dowloaded the installtion file 137MB and installed it. Now busy downloading patch.
Will the download be resumeable? and can it be run in the back ground?

I usually went with a regen combo for the short ones because if you need health, you don't want it to be hard to get, and put some extra damage and cool down in the longer ones. The trick is that the further along in the combo you put a pressen, the stronger its effect, and you get chain pressens that magnify the effect of the one before them.

I switched them around a bit depending on the situation, like at times you need to use the special abilities a lot, so I would put in more cooldown pressens, but other times you need to deal lots of damage, so I'd make a mix of damage and regen.

I also got it on plus some time ago, tried it for a bit, but the game just did not capture my attention. With my huge backlog, if the game does not make me want to play it, I just give it a skip. Not saying it's bad, and taste probably comes into play here, but after playing it for about an hour, nothing in it made me wanted to play it further.

Edit : And I see James made a list with download deals, and if I read right, The Last of Us will be going for even cheaper in a few days time - http://mygaming.co.za/news/features/61972-digital-download-deals-this-weekend-4.html (R111 odd for PS+ subscribers)

Oh ya, I think it's because it's a 26GB download or something, so to download the full installer, and install it, you would have to have at least 52GB free, at least temporarily.

It does resume when you start it up again, but it doesn't run in the background.

At least when you get to about 65%, you can start playing, and it'll keep downloading in the background of the game

Oh cool, I'll try that. I only have enough pressens for 3 hit combo and then 4 out of the 5 hit combo. I am really not that far in yet.

I have a massive backlog too. But I figured that I want to give something a go that is completely different to the stuff I am playing at the moment (FFVII, Mortal Kombat and Borderlands 2)

I may give it a go again sometime later. I'm 50 hours into Ni No Kuni, and damn that game is eating up my life. But if all goes well it will be my second only plat. First one was Walking Dead Season 1, so that one probably does not count (basically just have to finish the game to get a plat).

dude you must play Tomb Raider. i loved it :) there is not much tomb raiding sadly. just hiding and killing people mostly.
there could have been better weapons.

But I have played it. I was saying I already have it, and have finished it on XBox, so I'm not going to get it again on PS3 if it comes out on PS+

Ya, I buy my PS+ and XBox Gold subs a year at a time. It's cheaper and you don't have to worry about it for a long time. I also keep my eye out for specials to extend them

I haven't for a while unfortunately. I have gotten a couple of good deals in the past though. I think when I first joined PS+, it was on special for something like R360 for 12 months. And last time I renewed, it was full price, but they threw in an extra 3 months or something if I recall correctly.

Keep an eye on https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com and a couple of 3rd party codes sites like Evopoints, Cheapcodes and PrepaidGamer.

Thanks for the tips. I'm always checking the Sony store, but I haven't been checking the others on a regular basis. I do check thedealbreaker.co.za and hotsadeals.co.za every other day though...
 
Where the hell do you check your PS+ service?

I want to see when my PS+ expires and/or if I need to renew.
The Last of Us wants to charge me R339 but it's R303 for +, but I do have a yellow + near my account.

Account manangemet, Service list I think will have to Check

At 65%, it should give you the option to start playing while it finishes downloading.
