Gaming Mouse Suggestions

MalicE

Party time! Excellent!
Yes, I know there are probably like eleventy threads regarding this already but I need fresh input

After 8 wonderful years my MX518 is finally starting it's long journey to Valhalla to rest among the other warriors and gods. So I need to find a worthy replacement now. It goes without saying that the G400s is my default choice but I'm open to other suggestions

The wife is buying it for me for my bday so the wallet is tight...

GO!

I can vouch for the Logitech G700. Have had it for quite a few months now and it's an amazing piece of hardware!

I've got the Logitech G9x and I've had better mice before. The G9x is having problems with left mouse contact after only about a year and googling it shows lots of people with the same problem. So I wouldn't recommend it even though lots of people love it.

My favourite mouse was a Microsoft Habu. Man that thing was great but after years of use the cable started giving problems. And when I contacted Microsoft for help they told me that the mouse wasn't made anymore but they replaced it with a different Microsoft mouse. The X5. I used that for a while but it was a bit big for my hand.

My wife uses one of the Steelseries mice and I really like the feel of it.

I've got a RAT 5.

At the time when I bought it, I thought it looked awesome and read some good reviews on it.

BUT DON'T BE FOOLED.

I will never in my life buy another RAT mouse, I've had too many issues with my current one.

The only reason that I'm still using mine is because I've got V7 keyboard and its got a nice look as a pair.

Will definitely be going back to Logitech on my next upgrade:D

I have the coolermaster sentinal advance. For about 2 years now, best mouse I have ever owned.

The LCD screen is nice to upload a small logo and the colors and effects is amazing.

Malice, it's difficult to really recommend a mouse or not as there are so many different ones largely in part of shape of them. Most mouses are of the same build quality (warranties changing depending on brands, Logitech having the better one) but what makes them different is a few gimmicks and how comfortable you find them.
I know people still rocking with the standard usb mouses and they are very happy because they don't need the gimmicks and find them very comfortable, why reinvent a wheel?
I use a Roccat Kova, I like it, it's comfortable and has a few gimmicks that I like. Would I buy another +/- R500 gaming mouse should mine break, probably not since I don't really use the features that I should on it. A mouse like a Zalman for a third of the price is probably where I will be heading. That's my 2 cents on gaming mouses.

However, should the G400 really be tickling your fancy, let me know if you want me to send you a quote :p however I think I can only get the G400s.

Currently using a Corsair M60 and very happy with it.

All I really care about is comfort and build quality. Functionality-wise, unless it's an utter piece of shit, they're pretty much all the same.

looks nice, but it's a bit out of budget...

that's the problem I got now. even thought of trying Surgeon Simulator: IRL Edition and open it up to try and fix the problem

looks interesting, and it's a good price...

the G400s is the one I'm looking at as it's basically the direct replacement model of my very beloved MX518

I have the R.A.T 7 and am enjoying it thoroughly. (mine did look like it was going to die at some point last year but its still going its about 4 years old i think) also have the V7 keyboard and in hindsite wont recommend the keyboard as the keys arent flat enough for me

I'm all sorted on the keyboard side, I got that G13 :D

the R.A.T.'s look very... uncomfortable

its actually not but then again i have small hands... but it is customizable for bigger hands although then it does tend to look very ugly

Malice what is your budget and i would look at the Razer Taipan or the Razer Ouroboros, i have the Imperator BF3 edition and i love that mouse

Sensei. Hands down the best mouse out there. I have had almost eveything under the sun.

Razer's retarded software never works. Had to send in my Mamba twice. Eventually the 4G version worked like a bomb. But again, the software decided to install itself everytime the PC was turned on :/

Logitech is also a very fine brand. No bells and whistles, but gets the job done (Excellent ergonomics)

RAT is cool, but that pinky rest gets in the way with fine tuning (I use the tip of my pinky to move like 1mm differences) Heavy mouse as well. Tracks well though.

Sensei.....nothing wrong. Cannot fault it at all. Ergonomically it is just perfect. Very, very bland mouse, but fits just right. Weight is super light. Super responsive. Cannot ask for anything more. seriously.

But then again, some people might hate it :)

I say Steelseries Sensei. Not the RAW, the good old proper silver metal wannabe :)

Everyone seems so lucky with Logitech. I've had nothing but problems with the Logitech brand. First a Rumble Pad 2 and then my G9x. And I'm not very hard on peripherals. I will definitely not go with Logitech again.

I'm going off topic on this post, my apologies to the OP

Yeah, the keyboard is not so lekker.

I don't use half of the extra keys, and the media functions are nice but there are a lot of keyboards that feature them. If I had know what I know now then I would never have bought it.

I bought all my stuff thinking that I would get like a Cyborg package about 3 years ago. Stupid move from my side, consisted of the RAT 5, V7 and the cyborg gaming lights.

RAT 5 - like I mentioned, I've had numerous issues. Chief among which is that the laser is too sensitive, so there are times where it freezes or acts erratically because of dust on my mousepad etc.

V7 - bought it solely because I wanted to complete "the look". Never going to do that again. Its chunky, huge and half the features don't work properly because of software issues. Still contemplating using my old Logitech wireless keyboard that types like it came from some divine place lol.

Cyborg gaming lights - this is hands down the dumbest thing I have ever bought. They are cool for the first few months, then they just become annoying. The drivers for them glitch all the time, they sometimes don't work then I have to disconnect all the cabling (which is half a ton) for them to work again. To top it all of, Cyborg hasn't released new drivers for the damn things so they don't work with stuff like Guild Wars 2 at all. Decided to pack them away and get rid of the clutter.
