Ellen Page's moving coming out speech

Missed the first thread entirely somehow(thankfully so it seems), but as a person with a majority of gay and lesbian friends it warms my heart when someone shows courage such as this. :)

Agreed.

As difficult as it is to repeat the sentiment I originally expressed with the same depth of feeling, I'll try this one once again.

She was obviously incredibly nervous, her voice was quivering and it obviously wasn't an easy thing for her to do but she did it bravely and with strength and fortitude many of the people who jump at the opportunity to criticise her (and gay people as a whole) can't possibly imagine (and would likely never be capable of either).

My hat goes off to her. She's an inspiration and a beacon of light to many.

Rock on, Ms Page.

Incidentally I spoke to one of my friend's who came out very recently as a lesbian; and she says that she genuinely cried as she saw the video. Her own relationship with her boyfriend fell apart because of the fact that he could sense that she wasn't being true to her own feelings and thoughts; so she said that had she had courage like this then she could have been far happier, (or at least content of the truth), the past few years instead of living a lie.

Puts a new spin on things doesn't it :)
