GPU Advice: MSI 750 Ti/ AMD R9 270X/270

Hi,
This is my first post (yeah yeah)
I'm assembling my first PC, and although I have done a lot of research, I am perplexed as to which GPU to purchase. I have a budget of R3k for the GPU, NO more. I had the following cards in mind:
MSI 750 Ti Gaming Edition

AMD:
Sapphire Dual X Radeon R9 270X
MSI Gaming R9 270X
MSI Gaming R9 270

I know they are all great cards, but I would just like an indication of which card would be best in terms of longevity/lifespan, reliability and value for money. I have checked out gpuboss.com to compare them, but they are very vague.

:)

They all in the same price bracket. If you have a weak PSU or are running a i3, sub 1080p monitor than a GTX 750 ti would be your best option. My opinion? Get a R9 270X, it kills the GTX 750 ti, if your PSU can handle it, I would definately get it, even the R9 270 would be a major consideration!

That is a 20 fps increase for more power draw ,which is a good trade off. A decent 500/550Watt PSU will get it done with no problems.

As for brands get what ever is the cheapest, Sapphire make good cards you won't be disappointed.

The 750 ti has got a 128 bit bus I think which could be a big bottleneck. While the r9 270 got a 256 bit bus which will give you double the memory bandwidth, I would go with the MSI gaming R9 270 x

Thanks for the handy info, I had the Corsair CX500/GS600 in mind as my PSU. I'm happy I came here, will be getting more bang for buck with the R9 270X. Thanks again :)

Firstly, can you please post the specs of your system?

@Gouko
CPU: i5 4670k
Motherboard: Asus B85M-G or MSI H81 Chipset OR MSI Gaming B85 G43 (help me decide please)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3 1600mhz
PSU: Corsair GS600
Case: Antec One

If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Budget is about R8k excluding GPU.

I'd say go for the MSI Gaming B85 G43 motherboard, also look at upping the RAM to at least 8GB.

Then for the graphics card, I would personally go for the MSI Gaming R9 270X.

Good processor choice, and the PSU should be more than enough to handle this rig.

What are you planning HDD wise?

I'm planning on getting a 1TB WD Blue 7200RPM Hard drive, and I'll eventually purchase a 128GB Samsung Evo SSD. Yay or nay?

Evo 840 is a beast of a SSD, I was going to get one myself but decided to rather get a larger albeit slightly slower one.

Yeah, I'd say that would be the best course of action.

Nice large storage to start off with, then later worry about SSD performance.

Are you going with speaker system or headset?

Also what are you looking at with regards to keyboard and mouse setup?

I was thinking of getting that SteelSeries Heat bundle, which includes the Sensei (RAW) Mouse, Qck Mouse Pad and Siberia V2 headset for R1700 from Kalahari. What's the difference between the normal Sensei and the RAW?

For the keyboard, I'm feeling that a Razer Blackwidow will do the trick, or the SteelSeries G6v2 to stick with the SteelSeries theme.

So I've heard, will be getting one later this year, thanks for your input :)

There are hardware differences between them as Gokuo mentioned, in the end the Sensei is the better mouse but doesn't offer a huge amount of difference over the RAW. I own a RAW, it's pretty good value for money, in the same league as the Logitech G500, but cheaper.

Keyboard-wise the 6GV2 is a good option. I opted for Cooler Master's Quickfire Pro instead for the brown switches and backlighting and when I bought it the price was a bit cheaper as well.

I'm also deciding if I should go for a Sensei RAW since my gaming mouse is now on its last legs.

My one's held up pretty well for the past nine months and I've had no issues with it or the software (apart from Windows 8.1 stuffing things up with the drivers for a few weeks).

I have the powercolor R9 270 and wow! what a card! and at R2299 from wootware... well... I was beyond pleasantly suprised.
