Kalahari 30% Off One-day Sale

I've been googling this kalahari voucher thing a bit and...my god its full of holes. An enterprising person with low ethical standards could easily coin it.

Luckily for Kalahari that excludes me. :D

I'll stick to Steam...don't like physical discs anyway.

Unless you have a PS3 and want the exclusives - like Uncharted. You could also buy hardware for cheap with the vouchers...

Just to clarify...my comment about "low ethical standards" was not aimed at the info in this thread or any of the mygaming crowd. Whilst googling I chanced across something unrelated that allows people to rip Kalahari off in a spectacular fashion.

Actually...come to think of it I should maybe report this....

EDIT: yep...I've concluded I've got a moral obligation to report a "scheme". So please mygaming people...please don't get any clever ideas beyond the 3 vouchers...wouldn't want you to get hit as a result of my reporting.

Like buy something for R100, that should be R300 and then sell it for R300 making R200?

Curious what these dubious schemes are.

EDIT
is this you?

DEALS: Kalahari Stackable Vouchers (R200 off)

So it seems there is some glitch in Kalahari's system where it allows you to stack various promotion vouchers on a single order.
Many people have used it and confirmed it works, including me.

Voucher Codes:

181455-s5rBNJ3u-1 (R50 off, valid on all orders of R250 or more)

178021-A563TXPS-1 (R75 off, valid on all orders of R350 or more)

170858-Jf1u2YTq-1 (R75 off) valid on all orders of R350 or more.

If you have not used the first 2 already which has been around for awhile you could get R200 off an order of R350 or more by stacking the vouchers.
They are only valid for use once per order per account.

So basically you can get R200 off a purchase of R350 or more. Some people even purchased a kalahari voucher for R350 and paid R150.

Thanks for tip Asif

Are you talking to me? Well I guess by now they should have made the bug fix so I guess it's safe to say the following... What kind of bargain grants me a R1000 gift voucher for free? To me that is theft and I told Kalahari and gave them the purchase number and voucher code.

Great, the moment someone mentions exploit and loophole my mind naturally goes into overdrive, that's what happens if you study software engineering and play too many betas...

These vouchers expire soon, right?
What if you buy a voucher with these vouchers...

Update on hotsadeals

UPDATE - DEALS: Kalahari Stackable Vouchers (R200 off)
Update: Kalahari has requested that I remove the post. The voucher codes are no longer valid.

See extract from the email Kalahari sent me below:

"To clarify the situation: a set number of promotional coupons were issued to specific customers and only the coupons presented for redemption by those customers will be regarded as valid. To the extent that our promotional codes have been used otherwise, they will be invalidated, if they have not already.

It's quite clear from the terms and conditions on our site that promotional coupons are issued at our discretion under such terms and conditions as we determine, that they are not transferrable to other people, and that they cannot be used to purchase other vouchers or coupons."

So they might be retracting the purchases done with those codes.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Was just pondering why there was no limitation on the voucher thing.
I wonder if my order is gonna get cancelled. since I only used the less than R250 and R75 all around one.
I did not add a voucher purchase to mine.

Anyways the shit is about to hit the fan.

What was actually happening? Did that deals site expose an exploit to get multiple R200 discounts? Is there a cached version of the page still around?

See original post on hotsa I quoted:

Or use webcache
http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...ckable-vouchers-r200.html+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk

From what I can tell:
A) You were not suppose to be able to stack them giving you a higher than intended discount.
B) Multiple accounts to use A
C) Perhaps reselling with use of A or B
D) Discounts was not public, but on person basis ???

Well I didn't exploit anything, I used the vouchers once for preorders and didn't believe I was doing anything wrong in doing so. If they try and retract the discounts (as I've already paid but games only release next month) I'll have my orders cancelled and refunded as the vouchers were my only reason for ordering there rather than takealot.

D) Discounts was not public, but on person basis ???

That one is a BS excuse though. If this was the case than they would of send unique, once of codes to people.

LOL. What I thought.

okay was it valid to use the R75 off that was on the gaming article?

Good question as that code is part of the three codes floating about...

Now, if you haven’t use it yet, there is also a R75 off voucher on all items over R350: 170858-Jf1u2YTq-1

Then you can get another R50 off items over R250 with this code: 181455-s5rBNJ3u-1

I see that myg linked from The Deal Breaker who also posted an update:

Update:

It has been brought to my attention by a Kalahari representative that these vouchers were assigned to specific customers who qualified for a specific promotion. The codes are no longer active if you do not qualify to use them and they will probably not be stackable if you do. I'm waiting to hear back from Kalahari with more information with regards to qualifying for these types of promotions now and in the future.

Here is an extract from the email I received earlier from the Kalahari representative.

To clarify the situation: a set number of promotional coupons were issued to specific customers and only the coupons presented for redemption by those customers will be regarded as valid. To the extent that our promotional codes have been used otherwise, they will be invalidated, if they have not already.

It's quite clear from the terms and conditions on our site that promotional coupons are issued at our discretion under such terms and conditions as we determine, that they are not transferrable to other people, and that they cannot be used to purchase other vouchers or coupons.

I have removed any mention of the codes in the article below as per Kalahari's request.

Can Someone from mygaming find out whats cooking with this? I mean is Kalahari going to honor these purchases or not? I wonder if they can even track who used them where at this point.

I used the one R75 discount code on purchases of R350 and up. Ended up paying R474 or something for Tombraider. Game has arrived this morning so all good this side. I didn't know about the other codes though so don't feel I ripped them off. But from what I read on another gaming forum there are quite a few guys that ended up paying almost next to nothing for their orders.

now would be a good time for them to spin this into good pr, yes it seems they had a problem with their system , but honoring the sales will go a long way in getting new clients, Its the first time I used them and the only reason was because of the discounts

Same here. I prefer Takealot but made use of them for the gaming deals they had earlier this week in addition to the discount vouchers. I still had to pay substantial amounts for the 2 games I bought so I don't feel like I did anything wrong. If an apple is marked R5 in a store they can't charge you R10 at the till, so similarly I don't see how they can punish customers by retracting the discounts because there was a flaw in their system?
