Kalahari swoops on coupon abusers

Maybe they shouldn't stupidly allow it to happen in the first place ....... but I guess that would require some work, can't have that happening eh Kalahari.

O well luckily did not buy a voucher but rather a game so hopefully it won't get canceled.

But Kalahari distinguishes between coupons and vouchers and those were clearly labelled as vouchers which invalidates that part of the argument.
They really need to be more careful with their wording.

And one of them was linked on their Facebook. All this quickly forgotten?

I still don't see how it's fair that the customers suffer because THEIR system doesn't function according to their T's & C's. I luckily didn't purchase any vouchers with the codes and have not had any contact from them regarding my 2 pre-orders so hopefully mine won't be canceled.

Apparently you were not the only one thinking this...

I'm on it.

It sounds like their system is flawed if it cannot differentiate customer specific voucher codes.

IMO, it shouldn't be the customer's responsibility to check voucher codes they come across, regardless of what their terms and conditions say (who ever reads that anyway?). To blame the customer when your systems aren't designed properly is poor to say the least.

Let's see what their rep replies to me with.

...and when the rep finally respond it would be interesting to see the spin.

Ag shame mygaming buckles under kalahari command. Thank god for pastebin and webcache

Censorship is wrong.

That's a narrow-minded cynical response. We have a working relationship with Kalahari and respect goes both ways. They could have ignored me (and I would have published that) but instead they worked to provided me with a response (my usual contact there is on leave and I had to deal with new people unfamiliar with me who were helpful and got their reply to me in the evening).

On top of that, I don't want to have published information that potentially negatively impacts MyGaming readers - arguably this is already happening with the cancelled orders.

The individual coupon codes themselves are not the crux of the story now. The way Kalahari handled the situation is. No pertinent information has been "censored".

Forgive my short reply, phone and all, over reaction yes, but the codes are very much part of the story and not shifting attention over to " how its handled ".

Got my watch dogs order cancelled :( just waiting to see what's happening with the the voucher I bought to get it. I understand why Kalahari would do this, obviously paying R150 for a R499 game is a lot of money lost, but their system allowed me to enter multiple coupons which were not single use coupons for a particular person, anyone could use them. I just don't think they should say it's the customers fault for what has happened.

Edit: got the money refunded and now if I want to use a coupon I have to send a screenshot of the page to their support people :/

So i guess I am one of the bastards that took advantage of the system.. but at the end of the day I hadn't redeemed the vouchers but it was nice going through Kalahari and choose my virtual basket of goodies... now I just have to get my monies refunded.

Well I'm going to assume my pre-orders are in the clear as I've still had no contact from Kalahari and my orders are still on my account with the discounts applied. So seems it was only those that bought vouchers.

It looks that way to me too. A couple of friends pre-ordered and only the guy that bought a voucher with coupons and then used it on another order had his cancelled.
