gonna hack this over the weekend and see how it goes :D

Exactly what I was looking at doing with a spare router I had lying around, but I'll have to wait because my in-laws are borrowing it after their router got fried by lightning.

Will let you know how it goes dude. Wish me luck :)

Alas zit appears that the routers I have are too old and cannot be flashed with the custom firmware :(

I used the same router yet my xbox 360 connected fine and its over 10m away from the router then got the netgear DGN2200 which also works well and my walls are quite thick, I can also get perfect signal in the garden.

So there must be something wrong with your router.

Hmmm, that's odd. *sigh* okay, guess I may have to try and source an alternate router then

Try DD-WRT and see if you can boost your output on your router. Also if you have a smartphone download a WiFi analyzer and have a look at channel strengths at or near your PS. I had a similar issue with perceived signal strength and a change of channel made all the difference for me.

yup, exactly what i tried. moved to a different channel but didnt really make any difference, as my previous channel was not too congested. DD-WRT website firmware doesnt support my routers :(
