Steam Gifts doesn't let me choose the MyGaming group, even though I am a member of it, it just doesn't show in my group list
You have to re-sync your account, had the same problem

Not always the case. There was quite a problem few weeks back with it not picking up groups, hope its not surfacing again

Nope there is an option under the "My account" section that says Sync your account or something, after I did that I could see the Mygaming group.

I was being nice and gave some of the games to friends that really wanted it. I was being a good Samaritan but alas that bit me in the butsses.

They just sort of fixed it, and you resynced again and all was well. Problem was server side.
No worries. You anyways have a whole week to get into contact with the winner...but steamgifts is down for all, so nobody would even know they've won anything, let alone be able to confirm/deny receipt thereof
My 2c (opinion you say)...Solitude has it spot on here :/
