But you've also got to take into account if the info is really relevant. Like that shows the EVO having an error after 100TB of data had been written to it, a number none of us are likely to reach. And quite a few people have recommended the EVO, so that article would make you think it's a bad SSD when it really isn't.

Nothing wrong with the SSD you brought bud. I've just had a ton of Samsung SSD's and they have performed incredibly well.
So that's why I suggested it.

My 840 EVO reports 2.57TB of read /write data has past through the unit in the 91 days since I've started using it.

I have a Samsung 830 that I've had for around 2 years now and its only at 31TB of Read/Write.
Still going strong, no errors and its still damn fast. Love Samsung SSD's <3
 
What ever you do dont buy a Corsair SSD... My 120 gig cost me like 2 grand two years ago, and is now dead...

Needless to say im not impressed...

Sadly SSD's back then were still in their infancy and wipes/resets/data usage cap's were easily met due to the technology being too new. Seems like things have taken a turn for the better, a couple of my friends did upgrades and all seemed to have got various SSD's mid to late last year and have not heard anything about a failure yet.
They have just about everything in the market A-DATA, Kingston, Corsair, PNY, Intel, Samsung, Transcend even OCZ, I also believe one of them got to test out a WD one as well.

Prior to that I used to recall people complaining about their SSD "flashing" and wiping all data causing them to start all over again.
 
My Corsair GTX is working like a boss. I can really recommend it for gaming, but due to size issues you will have to symlink some files to other drives. Stuff that speed isn't critical for.

Look you may be right, But i have to admit the performance increase in my machine was incredible... SSD Drives really do make a huge difference...
 
Just ordered myself the Crucial M500 240GB SSD from the takealot daily deals. Now I can see what all the fuss is about. :)
 
Slightly off topic but I've seen some Samsung 840 pro OEM models go for a bit less than their Samsung 840 evo brothers, keeping in mind that the OEM drives only come with 6 month warranty what would you guys recommend?
