Gauteng flood warning issued

With more rain forecast, Gauteng residents are urged to take care when crossing flood-prone areas, Gauteng Emergency Services said on Wednesday.

"Drowning is the leading cause of flood-related deaths, with most occurring during flash floods; it's hard to believe, but even six inches of moving water can knock you off your feet," said spokeswoman Nana Radebe.

I wonder if that oke thought about what he said afterward because what else could cause death in flood related deaths. And Centurion is a mess with all this water was there yestarday and i had to drive other roads because some were closed
 
In all seriousness, I've seen some pics friend sent me of the flooding in Centurion today. It's really scary how bad it is in some parts. I can just imagine how the roads are like to drive this week in Gauteng

lol Bud I drove through a stretch last night where the water was about 30cm high, then you still get people trying to speed through it....Oh and driving back from pta to jhb last night we were doing 50km/h in a 120km/h zone because you couldn't see shit on the road..was insane.

Woaw intense. I had to make sure my sister was okay in the awful weather, and she sent me a pic of my old house, almost covered in water.

Like this maybe

Rivers in flood are dangerous for many reason, one being the sheer power which can force you into branches etc where you can get cut and infected or die like Lara. I once fell out my canoe into a river after which I hit a rock and couldn't walk for the rest of the weekend, I'm lucky I didn't break my leg.
 
If you were canoeing in a flood man you either have huge cahoonas or no brains left :p but i think you know what i meant by my previous statement ike

We had a race that weekend in the Drakensburg, it wasn't high enough to can the weekend but it was still pumping. However our club did a few rivers during floods, it was just so much more fun
