LCD Monitor - Diagonal lines across screen

Hi MyGamers

I`m having a concerning issue with my monitor.

Staring directly at the monitor, you won't notice anything, but, viewed from the top, I notice these diagonal lines from the (top-right to bottom-left) of my screen. Looks like a fuzzy distortion. What can a probable cause be?

Thanks for any help.

GPU never exeedes temps higher than 50+ degrees. Maybe it's the drivers - though - these are the drivers that were on the disc supplied with the GPU.

Questions:

1. Have you tried the latest drivers yet? No one uses the drivers that come on the disk. No one. Ever.
2. Are you running at your monitor's native resolution?
3. Are you running at your monitor's native frequency? 60Hz?
4. Have you tried another monitor cable? Or at least made sure the current one is securely in place?
5. Is your graphics card seated properly in the PCI-E slot?
6. Is the power cable from your monitor plugged in properly?

I would download new drivers first and if that fails then try it on another PC or laptop to see if its still your PC

Update: Only notice these lines when in Microsoft Office 2007; it appears on a blank page. No other "white-screening" produces these lines.

Weird! If these lines only show when looking at the monitor from the top and not when your looking straight at it, you should be fine. Unless your one of those people that know its there and that bothers you :p

Wow that's weird, try re-installing office if that's the problem child

Not so much that. Knowing it's there is what makes me worry. Could be my monitor, vga cable or card. Yes, VGA cable - my monitor isn't supportive of DVI or HDMI connection(s).

Iv got the same problem with my samsung lcd screen, faint hazey diagonal lines going from the top left to bottom right, easily seen against a white background. Mine can be seen straight on from any orientation though, iv had them for a while and literally tried everything (including all the suggestions above) but nothing works. pretty much just given up now and accepted that they a part of my life now :)

Does another screen do the same when plugged into the same spot?

Sounds like monitor cancer :(

No its just that screen, tried two others and there are no lines.... The lines only appeared when the screen was about 6 months old after i transported it to my new house, so maybe got bumped or something ? but I don't think that's it because i repackaged it into its box with the Styrofoam and everything for the trip.

My situation may be similar. My screen was transported numerous times - but not in its original packaging ; was wrapped in a hoodie.

It still works though - so that's good.
