Would you buy these?

So I've got a couple of graphics cards around the house, with nothing better to do. I'm thinking about selling them at some stupid price just to give them a new home.

I have 2 GTX280s (old school hehe), a 9800GT and an ATI HD4850 512MB card.

Do you guys think if I advertise these for R400 - R500 a pop they'd sell? I really don't see the need to throw these away, plus there's no one in my friend/family circle that would be able to use them.

This isn't a "selling" thread, I'm just trying to get an opinion if there are people interested in "old" tech like this.

Potentially useful for running a HTPC or low-end steam box for indie games.

Good point there James, and yes I think they would even sell here. I know a few people here at the office that are looking for something in that price range.

Cool beans :) thanks guys! I'll pop over to carbonite over the weekend. I think the GTX280's will sell well. They're very old now, but they're capable of doing a lot more than what you'd think. I think they were my longest lasting GPU's I've ever owned.

Well, if you're interested feel free to PM me. Like I said, it's better to flog them to someone who can use them, than to chuck them away when we emigrate one day. Any money I make from them would actually just be peachy :)

They're quite the chuggers when it comes to power consumption it seems.

honestly I think the 4850 you will need to aim more at R300. Old tech might be a bit difficult to sell considering its power supply requirements. Especially since the 5770 performs per watt at a better performance point.

Well, it is what it is. I'm also selling GTX280's at R500 a pop - which is a bargain in my opinion. People don't want to pay for anything, so the ideal would be to give them away for free. Chances of that happening is nill.
