Have South African game prices gone up? 2010 - 2014 compared

I'm more interested to see what this new digital purchase tax thingy will bring to the prices, when it comes.

--edit: It's definitely the way to go in terms of buying games and I think a lot more publishers will be following this trend.

Isn't that gonna be 14% if they don't cover the difference

It would be interesting to see a Total cost of ownership comparison between PC and console. I used to be hardcore PC lover but continual upgrades became a pain. I bought my first console mostly as an entertainment hub, compact, functional. Now that there is an upgrade in the. Offering it would be fair to compair a few years of pc vs console.

It's interesting to see how prices went up over the past few years. On console it's been more or less the same with little change. Also, with the advent of Steam, I'm pretty sure that you are paying less now than a few years ago, if you buy smart. Steam specials, Xbox Games for Gold, PS+ all gives you chance to play awesome games at next to nothing, if not free. Shows you just how much digital sales have changed the industry.

I remember buying pre-ordered console games for R499 a few years ago, no it's usually R699 for PS3/X360 and R795 for PS4...

The prices are fine. The problem is you need to buy a billion rand worth of DLCs, season passes and other assorted rubbish lately to get the full experience.
