PC specs recommended for Watch Dogs

My PC is actually geared for this game. But I honestly hope the insane specs recommended for this game will allow you to run the game at full tilt settings, and are not just there to make up for poor optimization and bad coding from the developers. Remember GTA 4 on PC, that game required a monster PC, but it had nothing to do with the gameplay experience. It was merely required to make up for the fact that the game was poorly coded and ported from console.

PC gamers spend lots of $$$ on components with the hope to get a great gameplay experience. PC game developers though, have abused this point and would rather have PC gamers spend money on expensive components to make up for their lack of skill. I hate that.

Damn I'm just under the recommended specs (I have Intel Core i5 3570K - 3.40GHz and only 4GB ram at the mo :p)

Plan on getting it on PS4 anyhow but keen to see how awesome it looks on PC.

Just hold off on the PS4 for this game (for now) dude. I believe this game may be very disappointing on the PS4 in terms of what we've been lead to expect. The PC version may be "the" version to have, if your rig can handle it. Either way, I don't think anyone should pay R800 for this game on PS4 if the graphics are less than what was shown at last year's E3.

I'm not too phased if the graphics aren't up to the quality of the PC. The latest "Welcome to Chicago" trailer is from PS4 footage apparently and that looks alright for me. I'll try it out on PC just to see how my rig handles it, as it'll definitely run it as it's well above the minimum requirements, but I'm just worried it won't be a smooth experience. I'll be using a substantial amount of ebucks when I purchase it anyway so won't be paying R800 for it.

I just watched the new trailer (thanks for the link). Even though they're claiming it was run using a PS4 development kit, it's still a dev-kit and not running on the actual PS4 hardware. Considering their initial E3 video in 2012 where the claimed it was PS4 footage, I'm extremely sceptical about this title on console now.

The game itself looks great gameplay-wise. But I think I'm going to hold out on reviews and comparisons to decide on which platform to make the purchase. Like you said as well, it will suck just as much to buy it on PC but then have endless technical issues and never have a smooth gameplay experience. That said, the new "dev-kit" trailer still doesn't look anywhere near as good as the trailer showed in 2012. It's still upsetting.

My Ram is good.
CPU I'll upgrade from a i3 2120 to a i5 2500k
GPU I have a GTX 570 which is slightly weaker than the recommended 560ti according to Anandtech but I'm ok with that.
