The Elder Scrolls Online

But nevermind that, its been ages since I had this much fun in an MMO. I loved SWTOR, but due to my then LoL obsession that game never got the light of day it deserved. So I decided to bench every game this time round and give TESO my full attention.

I know right! I haven't had this much fun since the PH guild in WoW or My old Champions Online team! It actually feels like an MMO with some legs. It's early, but the player bases seems helpful and quite nice. I haven't even seen too many stupid names. Plus the laumch had it's hiccups, but it was far from bad.

It's the first MMO in a LONG time that I actually think I'll sub for.

Ill happily sub for this game, the amount of levelling content is insane and the game itself is just well u know ;-)

Ill probably buy the 3 month sub for the slightly cheaper option

Argh, still forever to go on my download. Will probably only finish tomorrow. Thank god I can download the entire client before I need to use my key, so I don't lose days of my gametime.

Just one weird thing. It has downloaded about 12GB so far, but the progress indicator still says 16%. Is this normal?

It's a pity they don't seem to sell 30days game time. I hate buying 60 days because I never know if I'm going to have time to play for a full two months, so often a large part of the second month might go to waste. I usually only sub to MMOs when I know I can spend a lot of time playing in the next 30 days.

So far, I've only heard complaints about this game. And the price for a 2-month subscription is madness when you think about how far that cash would go for your average Steam sale.

Oh well, thanks all for testing the waters early. If this picks up, I might do the same.

u cant compare this game to a steam sale... The price of one months subs will get u more the most steam specials, unless its a 5year old game goin for $10 looool.

I haven't had any issues other then one quest. I moved on and found a boat load more.

In general I think ppls like to complain, but wait for when trail accounts come then play. Usually by then the game has sorted a lot its issues out.

Most complaints are not about the actual game and content, but rather technical things . There is a few warped ideas regarding loot and auction house which i feel is easily fixed if they want to, but all the rest, the meat, is all there and enjoyable.

I have been the biggest moaner and bitcher here, and for that I apologise. The fact that I am still playing speaks volumes to the fact that I am enjoying the questing/stories/combat tremendously. There are some stock MMO features that are missing which irritate me and which I have been very vocal about but....

The game is a solid experience otherwise.

I have to agree, it's a very solid base to build off of and I think the fact that it has a well established IP similar to what WoW had when it started off will keep it going. I mean how many hours do people spend in normal Elder Scrolls games? Also apparently content will come hard and fast, but I'll believe that when I see it.

Global AH would be nice and I think that a need/greed in instanced dungeons would probably be a good idea too.

if this is the direction the next batch of MMOs is going then I'm also looking forward to Wildstar, which is so old school that it has 40 man raid content. Which sounds pretty awesome.

So, my download will finish sometime during the night, hopefully, as long as there aren't any massive downloads waiting for after the initial 22gb download.

Do you guys think I should activate my game time tomorrow or should I wait a few days/weeks for the problems to be cleared up? So far it sounds like the launch went very well, but I know you can often lose quite a bit of gametime in the first few weeks after an MMO has launched.

Game would be much better if they didn't manage to lose all my bank upgrades or actually fixed it in a timely fashion...

Look, this is not Diablo 3 with error 37s resulting in days of no play. They have been doing maintenance/server shutdowns in EU prime a few times and there is a few quest related bugs that will annoy you as they might prevent your progress, but nothing that screams "wait a few weeks" to me. You are going to play just fine. So it really depends on how much time you have and whether there is a risk of joining the party when everyone is sitting at the level cap and you're leveling by your lonesome...

I'll activate it then. As long as they don't have maintenance 6 hours a day I'll be content.

I don't quite mind leveling on my own. I play most MMOs like that and only group up for dungeons and raid content. Other people just slow me down if I'm leveling, so I go solo. :p

Besides, if there is one thing ESO does NOT do well is levelling with other people. It is a 90% solo game and designed that way it seems.

Which is actually working out well. I didn't enjoy having to do group quests and spamming local chat hoping for someone to come join you.
