Due for an upgrade...help me choose

Thanx guys, Unfortunately MTN don't stock the HTC One (M8) So its between the Samsung Galaxy S5 or the Iphone 5S :(

Not sure which one to take though...

My advice switch to Vodacom I did its worth it to have what you want , and not settle for 3rd Place
Besides the build of the samsung check out the rate of screen replacements its very easily broken .
I would even advise the LG (remarkable phone) over the S5

iphone stay away from that one , truly over priced here in SA and trailing in spec against anything in the market now .

Mr Joker you from everyone here knows the importance of good hardware and the projected lifespan it is what you do
2 years is a long time to live with the wrong phone.

Mr Joker, I would advise you do either two things:

1. Move network over to Vodacom, and you will be able to get stock of the HTC One M8 as well as any of the other truly remarkable Android phones that's been coming out lately

2. Stay with MTN, and then settle for the Samsung. I suspect that the iPhone will make you feel frustrated, seeing as it is not a phone that has a lot of setup and customisation options. The mere fact that the Android platform gives you that option, I would say will be the reason. I actually believe there is nothing wrong with the iPhone 5S, and from what I've worked with it, it is slick and easy to use. But the fact that I can change my Android phone to fit my needs, and not the other way around, is why I am an Android fan, irrespective of which Android phone you go for.

Thanx guys, I appreciate that. Unfortunately I already have a Vodacom contract and I am not keen on getting another 1 from them.
On top of that Vodacom wants to charge me an extra R200 a month for the same package I am on now with MTN.

MTN's network is fine, its the people that work for them that aren't lol but I know someone that works for MTN and one of my clients just so happens to be on the board of Directors so I am sorted with them :)

Yeah vodascam is absurd. I gave up my HTC One and settled for a shamsung because I wasn't willing to move and pay more for what I'm getting from mtn

Why is HTC and Samsung your only options? The Sony Xperia is a good phone too, in fact the current Xperias are all waterproof etc.

Anyhow, i have this one (Xperia Z1 Compact): http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/products/phones/xperia-z1-compact/

Loving it, it's same size as the iPhone, but got all the power that you get in the S5/HTC . That is of course if you want something smaller, if you want big, then there is still the Z1 and Z2 Xperias.

I'm actually seriously looking at the Z1 compact, specs are fairly close to the Z2, it just has a less fancy screen from my research.
