Nuts.co.uk closes after 10 years

Sad day today,

Nuts.co.uk has closed its doors, probably due to the influx of internet porn and pirating the company saw a steady decline is subs and purchases.

Whether you liked them or not hats off for the 10 years that they ran.

Shouldn't they have called it "Mellons" then?
Maybe that was part of the problem?
I can image a gay guy or straight woman picking up a magazine called "Nuts" and then go: "Better give this a shot, hey?" only to be disappointed when they get home. And you can just see a straight guy or lesbian girl browsing and finding the mag going: "Nuts? No thanks, I don't bowl that way."
Bad marketing if you ask me.

But come to think of it, this is a British thing. Like calling a big guy "Tiny".

Interestingly enough FHM in South Africa is also closing. It looks like there just isn't a market for these kind of things anymore.
 
if they called it boobs alot of guys would have been able to associate but calling it nuts (laat jou dink aan man klokke, no thanks "whistling:)

Genuine? as i read this topic i was just thinking about a mag i wanted to subscribe to, and then thought what if people had subscribed to this for like a year? then i thought of subscribing to fhm, because my initial thinking was that it would never close down...

It's a damn shame. In one month we lose both PC Format and FHM and Nuts.co.uk for people who knew about it.
 
It was enough to hear that Nuts was closing down, but PC Format and FHM SA :(

All those magazines were good.

I'm not looking forward to the future. Guess I still have the memories.
