Mechanical Keyboard

The razer black widow is epic for playing in the dark, due to the back lighting and a green plastic panel to further increase the brightness.

Spend enough time with a keyboard and you won't need back lighting, or even the letters printed on the keys :p

Back lighting looks awesome aswell. But the thing is what keyboard do i go for. what does the keys looks like in the dark with a non back light keyboard? I think I will wait a bit and see. already contacted corsair about the LED issue and see what they have to say about it.

I agree that back lighting looks awesome, the point I was making is that once you're used to a keyboard you don't need to look at the keys while typing. In the dark the light from my monitor allows me to see my keys.

Where are you getting it for this price btw?

Direct from Frontosa, got a quote today and it's actually R872 inc VAT now, price dropped a bit

nice tell me how it is. I have to put off getting a keyboard now cause have other stuff to worry about now

I should have it by thursday if there is enough deliveries for this week.

Never heard of them before.. I'm guessing you use them for your company?

Yes, I buy through the company as they have an account at Frontosa, they are really popular in the Cape Town area. I'm still deciding on whether to order the keyboard or not, as I need justification to get it :P

Got the keyboard today, must say its very different to the normal keyboards, and something to get used to. I hardly touch the keys and they get registered! very niiiiiice i must say

Sorry for a slight hijack guys, I had a Roccat keyboard I sent in under warranty and it turned out to be unrepairable so they giving me credit for a new keyboard, basically I asked for a CM or a Razer but they couldn't source those so it looks like I will have to decide from what is in store, which is a Logitech G110 or a Corsair Vengence K90. I will use it for gaming and programming. Which do you guys recommend?

Well G110 isn't mechanical, and the Vengence K90 is. So based purely on that, I'd for the K90. But hey, I've got an unhealthy obsession wit mech boards atm so mine isn't the most balanced opinion :D

Did you try any of the other switches or keyboards(XT)?

Yeah, went for the mechanical K90, glad I did. Definitely going to have to get used to the red keys though. My first mechanical board and wasn't sure the reds were going to work ok for typing but I think I can get used to this. The dome switches on the G110 and the G510 are very stiff which I don't like.
