Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls

My WD is rocking nicely in T3 now with a dot/pet hybrid. The changes to haunt have made a huge difference.

Before anyone gets really happy, 100% increase on a 1% chance to drop a legendary equals 2% chance to drop a legendary ;-P

Legendary items have a base drop rate which varies greatly between different types of enemies, objects, and clickables. All of those drop rates are boosted by higher difficulty levels, with a special bonus kicking in once players reach Torment 1. There are also numerous set and legendary items that can only drop on Torment 1 and higher, at level 70.

Normal: 0% Legendary drop bonus, 25% bonus in Nephalem Rifts.
Hard: 0% Legendary drop bonus, 25% bonus in Nephalem Rifts.
Expert: 0% Legendary drop bonus, 25% bonus in Nephalem Rifts.
Master: 0% Legendary drop bonus, 25% bonus in Nephalem Rifts.
Torment 1: +15% Legendary drop bonus, +44% bonus in Nephalem Rifts.
Torment 2: +32% Legendary drop bonus, +65% bonus in Nephalem Rifts.
Torment 3: +52% Legendary drop bonus, +90% bonus in Nephalem Rifts.
Torment 4: +75% Legendary drop bonus, +119% bonus in Nephalem Rifts.
Torment 5: +101% Legendary drop bonus, +151% bonus in Nephalem Rifts.
Torment 6: +131% Legendary drop bonus, +189% bonus in Nephalem Rifts.

That's still an increase at T1 of 44% increase on 1% (what ever the base drop rate is), I assume. Else by that logic at T6 you will be getting more than one legendary per drop. Else I'm completely missing something.

Anyone know how I get the new patch to download and patch. My b.net client says i am still on 2.0.4 and when I enter the game it gives me the spiel of "there is an update, game will exit and be patched... but... nothing happens after that? Any Ideas?

Nein, Shrike is correct. Just pointed out there is a bonus % in torment levels.

So with the Anniversary buff in effect, the 1% item will have a 3.89% drop chance in a T6 Rift.

I see where the confusion comes in tho. Should have cleared it up as bonus chance and not rate.

So 37 plans and 48 leg's i still have no belt but got one close enough and picked up about 12 set plans :p

IS this since ROS or because of the increased drop rate?

Also, do i have to play torment to get the increased drops? Or can I still carry on going in the one just below torment 1?

I hope to see you buggers in Diablo this weekend :D

Let's get some bounty running parties going!

Torment difficulty levels improve your chance of legendary drops and enable special drops as well. Paragon (post-70) levels also come with increased magic find chance which obviously goes hand-in-hand with Torment runs.

It's quite complicated so I suggest you read the wiki, but here's the summary:

Class Item Sets can only drop on Torment 1 and higher, at level 60 and higher.
New level 70 legendary and set items in Reaper of Souls only drop on Torment 1 and higher.
Legendary item drop rates get a special boost in Nephalem Rifts on Torment 1 and higher.
The Infernal Machine only exists on Torment 1 and higher. The keys and organs do not drop below Torment, and the Hermit's Shack can not be entered below Torment.
Imperial gems may drop instead of Marquise gems on Master and higher.
There are considerable boosts to legendary drop rate in Torment 1 and higher. (See difficulty details.)
